That's not flutter though, flutter has a chopping sound to it. It's like it wants to flutter, but won't.

That sound is just flutter. My mate's GTR sounds exactly like that. If the BOV has preload adjustment, back it right off all the way. If the flutter is still there, you can embrace it and love it as I would or buy a softer spring for the BOV/DV and that'll do the trick.

The reason it doesn't happen with stock turbos is the stock turbos' surge line is a lot lower in airflow. Because stock turbo compressor wheels are much smaller and spin much faster, they don't surge in the same situation like bigger slower turbos do.

hopefully the sound reduces after you adjust the spring in your dv/ blow-off . Reminds me of the old VL turbos running the RB30s. Probably not the sound you want for a BM

Sounds like the turbos are pushing a bit of air so intercooler pipes must be good.
Something's up with your bov. Try another spring and see how it sounds. Check front and rear inlet to turbo snout with a torch you can see rear from your wheel well and front is easily visible From vacuum canisters. If you cant see anything take it back to your mechanic |

Let me put it another way, I need some help with my nipple and vac reg line to the BOVs
See fix below UPDATE: I removed the manifold and cut off the stock nipple and replaced it with a 1/4" brass hose barb. I then ran a short 1/4" I.D. line to the BOV instead of a 3.5mm line I was using. The BOV is WAY more responsive now. Because it is more responsive, this moaning noise from the VTT inlets is now reduced by 90% or so. It still moans slightly at low boost, but not at all at high boost. I think the moaning has something to do with the BOV not opening fast enough. At low boost it opens much slower than high boost Originally Posted by vtl Sounds gross!
