Had to make up for that salad I had for lunch yesterday.
Thigh+drumstick, 2 sides and a roll for $2.99? I love you publix.

Not for lunch, but I had dinner at Jasper's the other night and was disappointed to find out that they're leaving Austin come May 22. Their filet is pretty good quality and I've always loved their aged gouda mac and cheese. The bowl shows 3 helpings of it LOL (I'm a glutton, I know)

I grilled 20 lbs of tri-tip for my wife's birthday. 21 people came over thru-out the afternoon, not all of them ate meat.

I have a can of Dinty Moore Beef stew. . . .

Florida says you're welcome.

Apparently they have plans of breaking out of the state even further than GA.

I'm stuck with leftovers again.

Slow cooked pork tenderloin, yellow rice with black beans. Tastes SOOO much better than it looks.

That actually looks rather amazing... any spices besides salt n pepa in the beans and rice? Always looking for good ideas for rice.

The yellow rice is Vigo saffron with black beans added to it. Rice tastes pretty good but the pork is where all the flavor is. The whole house smelled wonderful when it was cooking for 6 hours!

Orange juice, lemon juice, garlic, onions, salt and pepper all went into the slow cooker with two pork tenderloins.

Hungry now That sounds awesome. Wife doesn't like onions... bet it would be great without too. Did you sear the tenderloins or just toss them in "raw dog*".

* Made that up, but just trying to butch up the recipe talk.

I'm no onion fan either but for me it's the texture, not the taste. I kind of like the flavor of cooked onion, but not the slimy texture. Can't stand texture or flavor of raw onion. It's way too strong for my buds.

No searing. Just placed them in the crock pot, filled with water so 1/3 of the meat was still above the water line, added other ingredients, cover. In for 6 short hours, savoring ensued.

There is a place down here called Pippo's which serves cuban food. Their specialty is roasted pork with yellow rice and black beans. Everyone raves about it including us. This was miles better than theirs. Plus we used these organic tenderloins we got from Butcher Box. So far everything we've eaten from Butcher Box has been fabulous.

I'm a 2nd generation Cuban immigrant born in Orlando. Publix is life (although they barely carry any Cuban grocery products up here)

I've never lived more than a 10min drive from a Publix. So spoiled.

I'm amazed at how crappy other grocery stores are around the country. Aside from a boutique style grocery, no one does it better than Publix.

I haven't, but i've heard of them. Trader Joe's just opened up here in Tampa too and i believe those two are tied for #1 in Grocery store satisfaction surveys. Finally loosening Publix's decade or longer grip on the top spot.

But i'm not talking about their fried chicken. More or less their whole operation in terms of cleanliness, brands and type of food stocked, customer service, treatment of employees, disabled employee programs, etc... Not many people know they are an employee owned company. I think ranked in the top ten companies to work for by Forbes.

The fact that they do it so well, in every one of their 1,110 locations is remarkable. Give us a shout when Wegmens opens their 100th store.

ITT - Grocery Store Wars!!! lol

I live in FL and did a lot of work in upstate NY. Have been to Wegmans... even met the Wegman's while eating in their restaurant across from the flagship store. They were planning some kind of trip and deciding which house to have the staff open up... #fml

Anyway... I have not been to very many Wegmans and the ones I was in were the "flagship" type stores. Definitely bigger and more inclusive than Publix. I love Publix and I may not have been to the best ones there are, so the comparison may not be totally fair.

That's just what we need. An opinion from a guy who discounts his own opinion. lol

Publix Greenwise locations would be their "flagship" stores. i don't mean the locations that have a Greenwise section, but the ones that say Greenwise on the outside. Either way. Seems like NY and FL are spoiled when it comes to grocery stores when compared to the rest of the country.

Feel bad for Axius i think he has to go to Piggly Wiggly to get something that used to resemble beef and or a vegetable.
