Shifting the trans into sport seems to disable 6th, shifts faster, and when doing both it gives rev matching downshifts.
Drop me an email with your software version (IJE0S I guess) I'll send you a little file to see the modes in the gauges.

I have this on my 5 series as well, I'm not sure what software version I have, how can I confirm? I'd be interested in seeing this too.

Open MHD store and look HW version (no need to connect to the car).

Ok thanks MHD says I8AOS, would the app know to change versions if the dealer updated my software and changed this?

MHD Tuning the sport mode v1.4 beta affects the level of crackles, it's no longer as aggressive as it was with v1.39

V1.4 'hard' is about the same as v1.39 'medium'

I agree, previously it was more aggressive in sport mode.

Perhaps a conservative modification to avoid shooting out flames?

I agree completely. But hard WAS fucking worthless cause all it did was do some strange bass thing that sounded like shit.
Now I have it on hard (which is the old medium) and it's perfect.
Also, Marshall, the car coasts now when off throttle. Nice job to you and Jake for fixing the off throttle issue.

Mine sounded great on Hard. Sounded just like an rs3 with secondary cats removed, really sharp and high-pitched crackly.

All I can think of is what exhaust system you run must make a significant difference to the sound.

Valid point I didn't think of. My exhaust didn't like the old hard version.

I am happy to run medium if that's what i settle on, and if most others settle in it that's great, but hard and 1 sec duration was fun for me. Would be good to still have that as an option for those of us with exhausts that sound great with it more aggressive.

For daily driving/carparks I have M button off, exhaust valves closed. For spirited driving, I have M button on and valves open. It's a nice dichotomy. Now with medium it sounds exactly like it used to when I tipped in the throttle 1% on decel.

Updated to 1.40 today and I also agree, aggressive isn't as "aggressive" on my PE modded exhaust.

Ever thought of adding that ghost cam thing to mhd? Seems like it would go hand and hand with this. Just curious. Not sure I would use it but it would be neat to try it out.

It's ridiculous is what it is. It uses vanos to cause the car to lope at idle so you can pretend you have a tuned V8

That tune "mod" and this tune "mod" are both totally pointless. They both just make noise and produce no benefits. Tell me how this is any better than the ghost cam? Obviously it can cause a misfire if overdone, but plenty of people have done it without side effects.

It's not any better. They're both worthless IMO but after 34 pages of postings obviously a lot of people feel differently so I just close my mouth and look away. You can pretend your car has a V8 and put "SS" stickers on it too if that floats your boat.

I don't have the ghost cam "mod", but are you aware that there are engines with aggressive camshafts besides V8s? It doesn't have to be a V8 to lope. Even if it's pointless, it does make the owner happy to hear it. Your is has a spoiler on it, right? That's worthless too, except cosmetics.
