Anyone here rocking a photochromic shield? Best investment ever for my bell star rolling sands edition.

Awesome. I would too if I rode your bike!

I've been a huge fan of Dainese ever since. My Dainese gear has always held up well in crashes

I had pics of it somewhere, probably long lost by now...
I've always been a fan of A-stars stuff for other stuff like MX, and they have never let me down so thought the road gear may be the same. I think both those jackets are priced into the upper spectrum of their gear.

I too prefer Dainese now, and the quality you get with their stuff shows. They might be as aggressively styled as A-Stars, but that's okay for me. For budget choices, I've actually admired Cortech quite a bit. Styling might not be first rate, but all my buddies who rock it swear by it and I see a lot of guys at the track rocking it.
Yeah I think thats the same with most of the brands these days. I think the Celer and Atem jackets are priced into their upper end gear, which I'm hoping will mean better quality.

Basically looking for something I can zip to my track pants with the 360 zipper and use for track days if/when I go. Looks like both those jackets can do that.

I think both these jackets can be treated like the top half of a two piece suit. Zip them up with the 360 zipper to a pair of track pants and I should be good to go. However I will mostly be riding street, and I think these would both look good with a pair of riding jeans as well as offer good ventilation and protection.

Just wondering which of the two would be the best buy.

Since this is a bikes/photos thread, here's a shot I'm particularly proud of from tonight. I recently took off the frame stickers (hehe) so that is my little mod in this photo... caught the SLS right in my shot!

I bought my first bike, a 2010 Ninja 250, a little over a year ago. Sold it last week and picked up a 2013 Ducati Monster 696. Found a great deal on it through craigslist and loving every minute of it so far!

Holy cow, there are some sick bikes on here. The Ducati's are my favorite, by far. Problem is I have no idea how to operate a motorcycle. I've driven stick shift cars but I'm scared of motorcycles, lol. Do you shift with your foot or your hand? Is it like a mountain bike?

The clutch is operated with your left hand: pull the lever in to disengage the clutch, release the lever to engage the clutch. The operation is the same as a car.

Shifting the sequential gears is done with your left foot: clicking up shifts one gear up, clicking down shifts one gear down. Neutral is in between 1st and 2nd gear.
