Today I took off my Throttle body injection kit which required taking off the intake manifold. While I was down there I was bored and curious so I took off the hpfp, weird little unit and crazy how that little piece of sh*t costs so much.

This was actually the easiest clutch job I've done. The transmission was much more accessible than on any of the FWD cars I've worked on before, and way easier than the Subaru that was the last clutch replacement I was on. With the 328i transmission strapped to my basic 100-dollar harbor freight trans jack, I had to lift the car up slightly off of the stands and pull one stand out from under the driver's-door jack pad. Even then, we had to guide the bellhousing out through the front left wheel well in order to have clearance. The key is having the tallest service stands you can find and trust them to fly the car pretty high off of the ground. A creeper and a clean floor are a must. I'm also realizing that I never specified that "on jackstands" in this case is FOUR stands, not just two behind the front wheels. This job could not be done on two stands. Mainly for looks but curious to see if there is a noticeable difference in handling. |

Lots of updates as I am not on here regularly but wanted to share the progress.
All installed myself M3 coupe seats, M3 cowl (anyone getting "hood open" message from this? Countless purchases from ECS in October alone: Crankshaft Position Sensor had my cluster looking like a Christmas tree, changed PCV breather hose (since it broke removing the VC few months back) new gas cap, and cabin filters, spark plugs replaced, added 10mm spacers to front .. M Sport rear bumper on a lot of future plans: Euro LCI passenger tail light, Koni yellow, left tie rod, flush fluids, Waterpump & thermostat.. dreading this might pay my mechanic since I don't have jack stands, Stage 3 intake possibly. |

I haven't done it myself, but I recall reading about it...the hood switch isn't getting pushed down with the hood closed. There's a cowl swap thread that talks about it, somewhere. I think some added felt pads to make up the difference between the M/non M hood/cowl.
