Who that was traded in the last week makes our team better?

Roquan comes with needing a contract that he wants to reset the MLB market with, no thanks. Claypool would be our WR3. Toney I am unsure if he even wants to play football. Quinn or Chubb, we already have too many edges to get everyone enough snaps on our top 5 pass rush. Hockenson, not better than what we have, and he needs a new deal.

We dont have WR problems. Dak with CD and Gallup is solid, Washington should be back in a week or 2, Noah Brown has been a solid #3.

Which WR helps? Claypool, who went for a 2nd and most everyone says that was an overpay, and he will need a new contract? Cooks, who would cost a 2nd + 18mill this year and 20 mill next year? Elijah Moore, who the Jets said multiple times they werent trading? Ridley, who is suspended the rest of the season and wants a new deal. There wasnt anyone available who significantly improved our offense.

Our trade deadline trade was Hankins last week. Would you have preferred them to wait till yesterday to get it done so they could have done something at the deadline? Hankins in limited snaps vs the bears provided a good boost to our run d. The stats say when he was in the game, the Bears ran it 10 times for 35yds.

And there is no indication OBJ will take a team friendly 1 year deal, and hes at best not gonna be healthy enough to play until end of the season. Earlier this year, he was wanting a Gallup type deal at 3yrs 50ish mill. If he takes a team friendly cheap deal, its going to be with the Bills or Chiefs, whichever he thinks gives him the best shot at a ring this season.

The team is 6-2, and is firing on all cylinders on offense and defense. Our run d up the middle has been a weak point, and Hankins was brought in to help with that. Hopefully Clark starts getting the bulk of snaps over Barr, and everything he showed last week indicates that is going to be an improvement for our LB play.

Justin Fields has turned things around while the Packers have reached an all time low. And the Jets shockingly held on to beat the Bills.

Disappointing to see the Bills lose. Thought there was at least ONE standout team in the NFL this year. A mass of mediocrity.

WOW!!!!! TB12 literally broke the hearts of all Rams players and fans just now.

That last drive for a TD in under a minute was incredible.

yeah once the coaching staff decided to let fields be fields, hes lighting it up. Interested to see what they do in the offseason to build around him.

And the Packers losing to the 1-5 Lions thanks to Rodgers. You love to see.

It is weird because when he does those game winning drives in under 2 minutes it makes me wonder if he would be much better just playing at that high pace all game long. Defenses never can keep up with the no huddle it seems.

Fastest ever for TB and he has had a TON of them in his career. More than anyone else now. Brady's 55th game-winning drive, an NFL record. Six plays, 60 yards, 35 seconds

Oh that pats won but the game was boring.

I'm not a Bucs fan but I admit it was amazing to see Brady go cold-blooded and drive the team down the field. Damn he has done that so many times and for so long.

8-0 record constitutes a standout team.

right, we all know wins against the #2 and #3 NFC teams don't count. Close games like the vikings+17pts and cowboys +9pts don't count. Neither does a +90 point differential... or a +15 turnover differential...

Here is the updated 2022 strength of schedule

2022 NFL Strength of Schedule Rankings

Rank Team Opp. Record Opp. Win Pct.
10 Dallas Cowboys 40-33-2 0.547
10 Cincinnati Bengals 35-29-0 0.547
12 Buffalo Bills 42-36-0 0.538
13 Philadelphia Eagles 39-35-1 0.527
14 Minnesota Vikings 40-36-1 0.526
15 Tennessee Titans 42-40-1 0.512

25 San Francisco 49ers 36-42-0 0.462
26 Kansas City Chiefs 36-45-1 0.445
27 Seattle Seahawks 29-37-0 0.439
28 Tampa Bay Bucs 30-39-0 0.435
29 Carolina Panthers 29-38-0 0.433
30 Pittsburgh Steelers 32-43-1 0.428
31 Atlanta Falcons 26-43-0 0.377
32 Baltimore Ravens 27-49-0 0.355

For the Washington game one could argue that the Commanders were gifted 7 points by the referee interfering with our safety on that long TD to Samuel. If that played out differently maybe we wouldn't have needed that final field goal drive to win.

I still need to see more from the Vikes to trust they can make a playoff run and the next two games (Bills, Cowboys) will be pretty telling but I will take the 7 and 1 record regardless of the circumstances and details of those games as laid out in your post.

Not kocking this cause its Dallas, but do you really think OBJ has anything left to be valuable to a team. I know you guys would benefit from a receiver upgrade, but if I was running a team, I would be real cautious bringing his prima-donna attitude into a locker room.

Do you think OBJ is good enough to put up with him? IE as an eagles fan I am all for Dallas signing him.

Is he the OBJ from the Giants? Nope.

Is he still a viable deep threat?
Can he draw double coverage or suck in the Safety?
Will he free up Lamb or himself?
Does he know how to win?
Can Dallas handle him?

Yes to all of the above!

Dallas has specific experience with drama queen type WRs :

Dez Bryant and Terrell Owen's.

I honestly believe with the fact that he has won a Championship, recovery from that injury and just maturing.

OBJ, when with the Giants, wanted to look great/lose than win. Remember that one
handed catch in 2014 against Dallas? Dallas won that game but that was his trademark but I don’t recall him saying back then that he was disappointed that they didn’t win. Maybe he has turned the corner but only time will tell.
