Do some reading here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300910

TLDR version: He was being deployed to Iraq for 13 months and would not need the car, but that was 2.5 years ago.

More money to be made.....Thats why you dont see alot of the bigger companies investing time in the N54, and to come out with a turbo kit. More money is had to the more expensive cars where there is a larger profit margin.

Also the BMW community of the N54, has already given a bad tast to the bigger company qouting a renown Merc tunner :

"...there is too much risk involved and not worth it....they are cheap......not worth it..."

I was looking into upgrades for a 911 turbo (997.1) and they are actually more reasonable compared to the 335i consideirng the sticker prices is near 3 times as much. For upgraded exhaust, upgraded turbos, tune, filter, and plugs its about $10k for the 997tt uninstalled and an additional 200hp. For a 335i its about $6.5k and you get probably 200hp (leaving meth out). As a % of the new car price and used car price, the 335i is about twice as much. I find that odd. Then if you consider the m3 updated FI costs and it seems way over the top.

Thank BMW for that, I've heard from a few of the vendors that the 335 was purposefully engineered to be hard to upgrade on the aftermarket.
