For those of us actually trying to buy an e91, please stop thinking you should base your asking price off of BaT.

I think BAT/CAB give a nice benchmark (if nothing more) for those expecting top dollar, as it shows based on the spec and condition of premium examples what the market is willing to pay at this time. That being said, I could never personally deal with the peanut gallery.

It seems like a massive headache, given so is marketplace too so far. It's really cool to scroll through and look at everything they have up, but for selling it's just what frustrations you'd rather deal with. I'm just sad I'm too young to have experienced the peak of ebay auctions.

It's far from perfect, but it's at least (in my opinion) it's a decent spec. But I'm a sucker for the saddle interior.

Is yours a 6MT swap? I think the MSport package is a big factor in these top dollar sales. MSport and 6MT are the key factors. Add in RWD, low miles and good spec and that's the pinnacle. The 6MT swap that just went for $29K on BaT had a lot of other stuff going for it in addition to the factory MSport package.

If yours is Space Gray over Saddle, xDrive, non-sport, >120K miles and 6MT swap, I think you are pricing it correctly around $18K - maybe hope to get $16.5. For me, for that price, it'd have to be well sorted and 8 or 9 out of 10 cosmetically in and out. If not, then $17.5K may be pushing it... IMO

... unless you have a RWD MSport factory 6MT with low miles, mechanically sorted and 9/10 cosmetically. If so, then hoping to get 85-90% of BaT price seems reasonable to me.

There are a few run of the mill E91s that sold on BaT for market value (or arguably below market value: $9,300 on 4/22/23 and $7,350 on 4/1/23)....

That makes me feel a little better. Truthfully I want 15 out of it. I guess it might be a 6mt swap, vin is decoding as an auto and I hadn't thought to look into it before. I was just thrilled to own it. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is to have cash to put back into the house and eventually pick up a new daily that way I'm not putting a ton of miles on the projects.

I think BAT has been indicative the e91 market is not paying over 35 now to 38 (at high point during pandemic craze) for e91...the former being the BAT alpine with MPE and single hump last month; the later being one of the last lemans 6MT m sport e91s with low mileage on BAT.

I'm curious as to what those items were that drove it so high. I'm debating whether to "undo" some of the similar changes, or leave it as is.

Who knows what drives bidders on BaT, but the matt blue wrap and black 19" wheels make it look awesome. I think what drove the price so high was the seller - he was very responsive to questions and sounded very knowledgeable and instilled confidence. That coupled with the claim that the swap was done at a BMW dealership perhaps took the sigma of swap out of the equation a bit.

Upgrades/things the car had going for it: Logic7 Sound System, Digital Gauge Cluster, Digital Key, Apple CarPlay, 4K display, backup camera, 19" Style 641 Wheels (and stock style 193s), 6MT swapped at the BMW dealership. Claims to be fully sorted with all major gaskets replaced, cooling system (replaced the coolant expansion tank, radiator, water pump, water pump bolts, accessory drive belts and pullies, and coolant recovery tank hose)...

This was my E91 that was sold on BAT. BAT was a great experience it is just very time consuming to get accepted. This car was swapped by my brother at the dealership. you can see the shop background during the install and the invoice for all the parts from the BMW store. It would use BAT again just need to be very transparent and responsive will the buyers.

Lower mileage (80k) msport xdrive auto in Alexandria, VA for $18k. White/Oyster. Looks pretty nice. Carfax on the site. Cargurus says Autocheck has 1 accident reported but no damage. Carfax looks clean.

This has been up for at least a month, right near me here. White just doesn't do it for me or it'd have been long gone!

Style 194M wheels for sale from my E91

I posted a few weeks ago that I was selling my 194m wheels from the wagon I sold earlier, but stupidly I extended my stay on the East Coast with the wheels in Michigan. I'm back together with the wheels and tires, and would like to sell them!

So, here is the FS thread in the classifieds, https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...9#post30118219

If anyone here contacted me earlier and is still interested, I'll be happy to answer you first.

Nice example:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ports-wagon-4/

Low miles and well optioned but a few dings. Curious how BaT determined it has the cold weather package despite a lack of ski bag and heated steering wheel. Don't think CWP just means 'heated seats' but maybe someone knows better than I.
