5 supplements in the morning, soon dropping to 4; once flu season ends I'll stop taking the zinc. I'll keep going on the others; daily multivitamin, glucosamine/chondroitin, fish oil (2x recommended dose) and vitamin D3 (2x recommended dose). My eye guy takes 4X the recommended dose of fish oil, and my former family doctor takes 4x the vitamin D3 recommendation, which I use as my excuse!

1 medication (pill) at bedtime.

Permanent: 2 Rx in a.m., 3 pills at night (1 Rx, Zyrtec, supplement)

Temporarily: +3 Rx in a.m., +1 Rx at night and now starting Penicillin (for tooth) every 6 hours. Also Tylenol as needed and got Rx for Tramadol (also for tooth), as needed.

Feels like a shit ton to me at the moment.

My doctor's instructions are to not use the rapid-acting before lunch or dinner if the sugar is over 180. (Apparently changed by medical industry from above 150 recently.) With my radical change of diet to cut all carbs/starches, I am not over 150 much and almost never above 180.

FWIW, my GMI right now is down to 6.5%.

I'm still convinced that my sugar problem is a side effect from all of the pills needed to keep my ticker alive.....

For all you older people who remember The Ed Sullivan Show (who doesn't?), I was looking around the Freevee channel last night and found a channel that is dedicated to that show. So you get 23 years of Ed Sullivan, which for me, includes all his wonderful musical guests. Check it out if you're interested. Lots of great TV entertainment. It's in the "Live" section of the Freevee channel.

Quote:
The Ed Sullivan Show aired from 1948 until 1971 and changed the landscape of American television. Sullivan's stage was home to iconic performances by groundbreaking artists from rock 'n' roll, comedy, novelty, pop music, politics, sports, opera and more.

P.S. - Was probably an infomercial at one point, but I believe they're showing the content of what they were selling as well as the infomercial here.

My A1C was a pretty consistent 6.6-6.7 for a couple of years before my CABG. After, I couldn't get it below 7.2, even though I was walking a hard 6ish miles five days a week. I went to a diabetic specialist (actually, a PA) and he changed my some of my medication and put me on Ozyempic. I haven't been walking like I should, yet I'm down over 35# and my A1C is 6.6. I had a reading of 22 this morning, which I totally didn't believe. I immediately retested and got a number of 114, which I do believe.

20mg of omeprazole every night or I’ll wake up from acid reflux. If I sleep on my right side for very long (and it’s my preferred side) I’ll have reflux, because the esophagus attaches to the stomach on the right side. Sometimes a melatonin if I feel like falling asleep may be an issue. Three or four aspirin if I’ve had muscle exertion that day or if I’m kind of hyped up. Aspirin helps me relax. I’m a big fan of aspirin. I think I’ve talked about it here before. I became a fan in the Army. I don’t remember how I discovered this, but somehow I discovered if I took three aspirin before a PT test, since my pain and inflammation were mitigated ahead of time, I could do more pushups and sit-ups, and run the two miles faster. It made a noticeable difference in my PT scores.

Don't the 7.5 rat poison pills have moulded score marks to cut them in half to make two 3.75 doses? I'm pretty sure that mine did, until I finally convinced my medical insurance's death panel to approve Eliquis last fall.....

I have been taking omeprazole since the 1990s and hoping doing so isn't leading to another condition... Reflux has been a big problem for me and can lead to esophagus issues, including cancer. So I keep taking it per GI, who also performs an endoscopy every 5 years or so. If I fall asleep on my right side or back, it almost always results in reflux. So I always try to sleep on my left side. Getting an adjustable bed to raise head / upper body has also helped and it is pretty rare that I get reflux now (always self inflicted, such as eating something I shouldn't too soon to sleep or over-eating).
