I'm not sure what my car may need, the service indicator for the brakes went on last week (car on lift and brake light). But now it only shows car on lift. I think I have maybe 57k, I'm too lazy to go garage and check.

I'm not sure if your car has any special exhaust set up but on the e90s, you can just get rid of the muffler period. No CEL or any errors.

EDIT: Has anyone spoken to Nick about his starting issue? Last he posted something about software issues.

I messaged him a couple of days ago and he got his car back. They put in a new fuel pump along with a software upgrade.

Those stupid pumps, my friend at the dealer says he has 70 of them on his bench.....

After the red car on lift comes up use your scroll wheel and you can see what service it is due fore. IE front pad rear pads it will show an indicater under the axle. Or it will show oil changed ext and miles to go

I'll be due for my 15k maintenance very soon, and I'm gonna see if they'll update the software while I'm there to try to prevent my pump from failing. Not sure if they'll allow that unless there's something that's not working right already.

Wow, it's been busy on here today. I thought this thread was about to move to Page 2 of the Great Lakes section

Nothing exciting going on with my car. I'm ridin' durty these days with all the bad weather. Spending too much time on the BMWNA configurator too

Oh, isn't it about time to start thinking of our summer meet?

They will not update it just because you ask. I can look at some TSB's and "tell you want to complain about" if you would like

Just for reference Seth, how much do you charge for a fuel pump change?

I am not convinced it is the software. Nick first had the software update and the car had long cranks pretty much the next day.

Do you have any HPFP symptoms?

Man! I built a BMW M3 on the configurator and started at it for a bit! It is an absolute pity that they don't offer the 335D in north america. I would be on that in an instant!

Lets wait for this wet/cold spell to pass before we organize the summer meet.

I think it's a good time to start thinking about it. We should definitely do another cruise to wisconsin border again.

Was driving around bloomington and noticed a red e90 on 494W. They were about 4-5 car lenghts ahead of me. Too bad I had to exit otherwise I would catch up to them. In the couple seconds I had, I noticed they had tint, black rims, and blacklines.

Oh yea, a few days ago I saw a white 1series with dark tint. I drove next to them to get their attention, but I noticed it was a young lady driving it. I rolled up my window and just decided to back off so that she doesn't think I'm creeping her out.

Ah! it is a 128! It is unfortunate that more women than men tend to drive 1-series. It has an undeserved reputation of being a feminine car.

Only done one all these cars are still under warranty out of warranty was for insurance.

Done a few E66's 750 pumps Hard to say what the price will be as when the manufacture has problems with parts the prices are always changing.

If his pump was already bad then a software update alone wouldn't fix it. However, it should prevent good pumps from going bad.

I am not sure Aaron, I've heard of quite a few of the cars with the new pumps and software failing. In my mind, it doesn't quite add up. If the theory is that the old software didn't prime the low pressure pump prior to starting up the HPFP, then I feel like it would have been diagnosed far earlier. Then again, my knowledge of software is limited to microsoft word and little bit of powerpoint. I know how to make the slides do funky transitions

On a side note have you felt any performance gains with your exhaust? My modding disease is flaring up again and I am itching for an exhaust but only if it at least marginally improves performance.

Martin - can you chime in on this as well? Have you gained anything with your muffler delete performance wise? Anything on the butt-dyno?

No, since it's just a muffler replacement the gains are negligible (~5hp). The biggest gains come from replacing your downpipes, which I won't be doing anytime soon. It's worth getting the BMW Perf. exhaust though just for the sound!!!!

Aaron pretty much explained it. I haven't noticed a change.

[QUOTE=ajvee;7301110]Fellow minnesotan bimmers, lets not let this thread die. Clue us in on whats happening in your bimmers' lives

Sorry guys, I've been off the grid for a while. I was at Motorwerks last week for an oil change...great service as always. Being I had by son with, I though it was a good time to see how he fit in the Xers. My wife has been REALLY driving towards a CPO X3 . She'd love an X5 but doesn't want to pay for it. So I may have an X3 in my garage this summer...I'm not sure how to feel about that. I had one for a loaner last year and it was nice.

I also had to get some paint work done, some SOB at BWW dinged me! It'll be the last time I take advantage of a close parking spot. I don't know what I was thinking. To make matters worse, some worthless rent-a-cop saw the incident happen and simply shrugged and walked away from me when I asked about it! Oh well, I guess its why we have insurance.

Any news or ideas for a summer meet?

Brad
