My first one was a 1987 E28 M5 while I was in the Netherlands. That thing was a blast. I caught the bug and have gone through a few models since then.

2017 F31 330d - Sapphire Black 2018 G31 520d - Mediterranean Blue I do miss the power just a little, but the 5 series is so much more comfortable that I mostly don't care. |

My BMW tale is quite a lengthy one. Hope you can stay with me. Bought my first BMW, wait...I should say I first started driving a BMW in 2009. Reason being was, I just started EOD school for the Army at Eglin Airforce base. I needed a car. I pulled the trigger at a local, rip off spot. I knew it was sketchy. It was a 2001 Volvo convertible. I thought convertible I'm Florida? I'm gonna slay!! Car ran for a week. I went back to the dealer and picked a 2001 325i from the lot. Fast forward past EOD school. Ten months later I'm in Germany. Literally my dream come true. I ship the 325 to Germany. After about a month, I decide. I need something newer. I sell that and got all of my money back that I paid for it. Winning!!! I pick up an e90 2009 328i. I enjoyed that for about a year and decided, yeah, I'm in Germany, let's spend more money on another BMW. Seemed like a great idea at the time. I sell that and lose only a little bit. Pretty much rented a 3 series for a year. Then on the the f30. Man oh man. This was my first brand new BMW. 2012 328i. Melbourne Red with Black Dakota and Red piping. She was sweet(her name was Tonya, sad the way she left me. I'll save that story for another time) I cry sometimes thinking about it. Long story short she's totaled, right before I'm set to come back to the States. Literally a month before. So now I have decisions to make. Btw my fiancé is already in the states waiting for me. She needed a new car at the moment too. But, you know what this guy does? He decides to pull the trigger on 2014 M235i. Could have bought two cars for the price. I paid around 60ish. Let's just say she wasn't pleased. Pretty much costed me a marriage. Fast forward seven years, and I'm in an F48 M Sport Estoril Blue. In the end I've had some great memories in all of those cars. BMWs really do make driving enjoyable. I've had many other makes in between(Honda, Audi, Nissan, VW, Acura, Volvo) nothing seems to put a smile on my face like BMW.
ps This isn't a paid BMW vert |

First time I saw a BMW I was about 4-5 years old (1981-1982?) and was completely intrigued by the design. From the outside style to peering in the window and seeing the unique components (I specifically remember the hazard button in the middle of the dash).
Fast forward to the recession in 2009, I was able to afford my first BMW which was an off-lease CPO 2006 530i (E60) with 68000 miles for $18500 (when they were originally selling for around $26-28k). Only issues I had with it was at 135000 with a water pump replacement, brake system around 150000, and headlight at 160000. Traded it in at 175000 miles for an SUV to haul the kids around. 5 years later and missing the BMW, I am now waiting for my custom build G30 2021 m550i... |

My first was a 323i, I bought it when it was 2 years old and I was proud like a king. It got damaged in an accident and with the payout from the other parties insurance plus some help from my dealer and my bank I got a brand new 325i.
This was back a long time, when the 325i succeeded the 323i. My black 325i was among the first 400 produced. I flew to Munich to pick it up and drove it to Hamburg. Sweet memories... |

I honestly have not bought one yet. My family has though, my dad has had 3 Z4's. 2006, 2008 and currently a 2010. The Z4 is such a fun little car, torquey and the 2nd gen is the best looking IMO. My mom has a 2016 428i coupe which I do really like. It is a good looking car but the interior is a little cramped for my taste. I also hate that stop/start eco thing at each light. Since its not my car I have to deal with it when I drive it. LOL
I still plan on my first BMW to be a 650i GC |
