The guy I bought it from detailed the interior trying to hide the smoke smell... had 5 different clip-in "air fresheners" in the vents. Used so much cleanser that the window controls shorted out.

I'll see what I've got for a multi-purpose cleaner and do it again, though, I trust the seller's cleaning abilities as much as I trust his comments about how it was "always dealer serviced and fully up to date on maintenance"

This is why I'm doing an NBT retrofit with carplay... so I can use google maps or waze in the dash.

If its still there after wiping it down using a carpet cleaner will help, also these work surprisingly well

Took advantage of the mild winter weather lately to give it a long overdue wash. It was baked in dirt and salt to the point where neither license plate was even visible anymore, lol.

Waxed and sealed it, cleaned up the interior and conditioned the trim/dashboard/door panels as well. Should be protected for the next few months now...163k miles and counting!

Hahaa, was seeing if anyone would notice. In the process of converting from 6at to dct and had to decide what to do about the rear diff. Options were sourcing a 2.56 from a dct car and having a lsd installed. That would give me a expensive setup with a weak input shaft. Next option was running an m3 setup and having 2.81 gears installed which are nearly impossible to find and expensive to install. 3rd option was to go custom. Found out the gen 6 camaro ss with the 8sp run a 2.77 rear diff with a clutch type lsd and internal cooler. Found one on ebay, built custom mounts and have custom stage 5 shafts being built.

camaro diff is a sweet setup.
I know there'res people doing 8.8 diffs as well, how does the camaro diff stand up in terms of strength?

8.8s, properly setup, are about 95% of the way to a 9" in terms of NFG abuse taking.

They havent been out for a long time like the 8.8 or 9" but they seem to be pretty stout pieces. There are several gen 6 ss camaros in the deep 8's running them with littlest or no modifications. The key for me was the super low gear ratio needed with the 7 spd dct. This will be the first in a bmw but i dont forsee any major issues.

I'm curious about the internal cooler, since I know some s550 mustang people that struggle with diff oil temps at the track.

apparently it's pretty easy to hit 250+ in the diff after a few laps.

Had Blizzak LM-25 winter tires mounted on stock 17" tims. Apparently my TPM sensor cores were starting to corrode, so tech replaced them, plus driver front sensor itself. That sensor threw a code driving home, but shop will gladly fix sometime soon. If anyone needs work in southeast MI, Vast performance (Ferndale) is a pleasure to work with. They do a lot of tuning as well.

Ordered a water pump and thermostat after mine decided to go out a few days before Christmas travel...

Hoping to have this done by Saturday! Luckily I recognized it before overheating and ran the codes after hearing my radiator fan run like a diesel truck. All part of the E9X experience

I put a NBT in my car

First impressions this is not a "huge" upgrade from a nice CIC setup. It was a lot of aggravation for what is really just a flex.

Finally got around to installing my front bumper smoked reflectors that I have had for two months. Originally I went out to do it when I got them and seemed like too much hassle, finally got em on last night and they look much better!!

Cleaned out the F80 oil cooler and radiator of leaves, styrofoam and bumble bees using the Husky grabber tool. It also has a LED light built in at the grabber end. Pretty awesome find for $8!

First post: Picked up an '07 e91 from an insurance auction this summer. The front and passenger side of the block and accessories was COATED with almost 1/4" of sludge. Downloaded INPA and other software and found 23 codes. I was prepared to R&R the crank seal, but found the Valvetronic gasket and VCG were actualy (hopefully) the culprit. Replaced them, the eccentric sensor, the belt and tensioner, plugs, coil packs, and a few pieces of the cooling system that broke during assembly. Also changed the transfer case oil. Probably only 200mL came out, put in fresh BMW oil. Car is back together and I've put a few miles on it.

I drove and maintained 85 e28 528 to almost 400k miles two decades ago. It's nice to be back in a BMW.
