Brand new 2013 Base VMax is $18k, not exactly inexpensive. If you're looking used at $15k it's a bit better but still not what I'd consider inexpensive insofar as motorcycles go. But you're right, it's a unique machine that stands on its own. I still prefer my Diavel, hehe.

#1 - I'm a Ducati snob

#2 - Diavel will outhandle a VMax (but is not outright faster especially top end)

#3 - Diavel looks better

(subjective of course)

#4 - Nothing is better than the Ducati sound with a proper exhaust

There are videos out there, just YouTube search on Diavel vs. VMax

I don't remember if I ever posted this video, but here's one of my Diavel with red pipes and the sound:
Note that if you look closely, the exhaust on my bike changes color when it gets hot (becomes deeper maroon)

Yeah, I haven't grown out of the croch rockets yet, but when I do, this is the way to go! That is an awesome machine.

Haha, i haven't grown out of them either, but here in Florida with no canyons they are a sort of sad waste unless you hit the track. When I get another track bike it'll be a proper sports bike.

IMHO Powdercoat the rims to match color of the rest, and put the accent on the tank/fenders. Still a very nice pair!
