If parked on the street I would not be happy, there's always one c*nt out there who would manage to drive straight into yours either texting or on dope.

1st Lt. Mary Louise Hawkins was an army flight nurse during WWII who received the Distinguished Flying Cross for keeping 24 patients alive following a forced landing on Bellona Island, until aid arrived 19 hours later. Her heroic efforts included constructing a makeshift suction tube from a life preserver to keep one patient’s throat clear of blood after his trachea had been severed by a propeller during the landing. All on board survived the ordeal.

Our neighborhood never heard of an HOA, but there are times when it might have helped. One of the folks in our hood owns a small business in town. It appears he's thinking of semi-retirement while continuing to run his business from his house. To that end, he dumped two enormous sheds (each one large enough for a car) right at the front of his property. He has a large backyard, so I don't why he decided the front yard by the street would be the best place for the sheds.

We were up there a couple of weekends ago. Some color, but nowhere near peak. Michigan rivals New England for awesome foliage.

Hey all. I was in London's east end today and took the Uber Boat from Tower over to Westminster. I often walk that route when I am there on a Sunday - along the South Bank, but I have been holed up recovering from a cold, so took the boat today. It's a lovely stretch on foot, but the boat is great too.
I actually got a decent walk in, from Westminster pier, past the Houses of Parliament and through St James's Park. Past Buckingham Palace and then through The Green Park and over Hyde Park Corner. Into Hyde Park and around The Serpentine, looping back around so I was just south of Marble Arch. Crossed over Park Lane and nose against the glass at the Aston Martin dealership, then a bit of a duck and weave through Mayfair. I cut back in to Regent Street and up to Oxford Circus, then into the Oxford Street branch of John Lewis (off with the baseball cap before I go in, as the security in every JL up and down the UK, have a one track mind, if you enter the store sporting a cap). A browse in the menswear department and then back off to Whitechapel on the underground. A few shots from the morning (it was raining during the latter part of my walk, so no pics); St Katharine Docks Marina x2 (you can see The Shard in the background, on the second shot), Tower of London (Thames path) - the cobbles here are amazing, The London Eye (from the Uber boat) the sun / haze was nice here, The Elizabeth Tower (housing Big Ben), trees in St James's Park, a peepo at the Victoria Memorial and Buckingham Palace (from St James's Park), one of the walk ways in The Green Park. It was good to get out on foot. |
