Personally, I found this thread incredibly useful. I hope people here continue to believe in it and continue to post price information and push for the best deal possible. I also hope there is no lying but even if there is I would rather push too hard for a lower than market price than settle high for a price above market. |

335xi lease in CT
335xi priced with options at 47,100 MSRP.
Lease of 36 months/12K miles with 3000 down (600 sec. deposit) and 580 p.m. Location - CT Its not just the price off the MSRP that is important. You could get your car at 'invoice' and then pay twice as much for other miscellaneous fees. I've attached a spreadsheet that was very useful to me during my research. Good luck! |

Is this a bad deal on a 2007 335i 4 door sedan.
I leased one last year on 2007. I am located in California, San Francisco Window Price was $48,000 Price I had to pay was $45,000. Made them minus $3000. Down Payment: $6000 ( yes I know if anything happens the money is gone) Monthly Payments: $477.01 not including tax ($517.56 with tax california 8.25%) Residual Value: $29862.00 (dont know what this is just reading my receipt paper) $2940.40 is the estimated official fees and taxes. Let me know if I got ripped off. Thanks |

So many times I have had customers come in to the dealership and say that their friend bought a car here last month and they got XXXX deal. When we look back at their friends deal it never matches with what they think or were told. I don't think that the friend purposely fibbed but they typically leave out valuable information like (down payment, payment plus tax, positive and negative trade equity, term, rate and others). After some years in this business (and I have said this before) people always like to claim that they pay more for their house and less for their car. Haven't we all done this in one way shape or form? Do your homework, a little shopping and feel good when you drive your new car. It doesn't do any good to look back. Today shopping on the internet is the best way to achieve a good deal. After doing this you will find out what these cars are going for in your market . |

So I'm not a dealer or anything. I just bought an '06 325xi and this topic caught my eye. This is also my first post.. yay!
What I learned in the past with buying a vehicle is that the market changes daily! A good deal today is a horrible deal tomorrow. There are too many variables. Basically, like beefybmer said.... if you are comfortable with your deal and you love your car... what difference does it make that you save a few bucks a month? I personally enjoyed the experience I had at Freehold BMW and thought my sales person was a pretty stand up guy. I didn't feel pressured in any way and he didn't treat me like some low-life because I wear jeans and a t-shirt every day and walked in there the same way to buy my car. He took me very seriously and treated me with the respect a customer deserves! Anyway, here is my deal: 2006 325xi 18,587 miles Single owner (CARFAX Guarantee) Heated seats Steptronic (not sure if this is standard) Sat Prep $28,994 sticker $28,000 negotiated $8,600 down (I'm financing... incl. my trade-in) 4.9% APR x 60mos. = $397/mo including all taxes and fees Exact car is listed here: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...paId=259873932 I don't know if I got the best deal or not. I was happy with the price he gave me and the APR on the financing through BMW (I could probably get that at any dealer). I really don't care if I could have shaved another $500 off.. they were a pleasure to deal with and I feel really good about the entire process. I went back and forth between 2 cars over the past week.. they even detailed both of them for me every time I went back and forth. The lack of stress is worth it to me! |

Invoice price without MACO or Training fee ($180) is $45,210.
I"m thinking of buying, 18k down and get 3.9% finance on the rest. If I lease, MF of 0.0022 but i'm leaning more towards buying. I drive around 18k miles per year so buying makes more sense I believe. |

If you can pin two local dealerships together then you win. It is obviously better for you to buy because of your miles situation but also because the mf is high! Ouch, when I got my 335, I got mine at .00175. Crazy huh? That was the buy rate back in August, .00175! Your miles situation though is much more important. Looks like you're set. Oh, and ask them to throw in some tints, bmw polo, and key chain. Sounds like being a cheap ass but really ask them to toss it in, Lols! H

Thanks for your response. If I add the MACO fee of $400 and Training Fee of $180 then the invoice price jumps to $45,790 which is only $90 dollars than what I'm paying. Should I not add the Maco fee and Training fee? I tried negotiating the price even further down but was unsuccessful dealer said they would lose money. |

There's only one way to find out, call another dealership, or two. or three! I mean, if you're getting so close to invoice it may be the time to just pull the trigger and take delivery of your new baby. If this dealer is cool and you like working with him, this seems like a great deal. Take delivery and ask for some goodies. You're set. You're car is waiting for you and I think you're deal is as sweet as can be. Unless you were an employee that is. On another note, if this guy is willing to give you this deal, if you can wait a couple months, order one, he will most likely honor the deal on a special order! Make it the color combo you want. I will tell you now if I was going to put down this kind of cash money I'm getting a custom order from Germany. If you are in love with this one at the dealership then ok, but think about ordering your own custom color options with leather, exterior, and options. 18K down? Damn, you're in the drivers seat to build the ultimate vehicle. ok oops, I just noticed your avatar says ON ORDER. LOL. I think you're pretty much set bro. Get a nice polo though! What do you say? H

Earlier this week I placed an order for a 2008 335i. My first BMW, I'm very excited!! The specs:
Deep green metallic paint Beige leather interior Automatic transmission Poplar wood trim Heated seats Satellite radio iPod/USB adapter MSRP for this particular configuration is $44,370. The invoice price, including destination, MACO, and training/service fees came to $41,315. I am paying $42,315 (got 3.9% financing). The salesman included floor mats. The dealer is giving me $16,000 for my trade-in, a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T sedan (minus approx. $12,000 that I still owe on it, comes to $4000 trade-in credit). The KBB value is $14,165. Although I signed a paper agreeing to the trade-in figure they quoted me, I have put no money down yet; that will come when my car arrives. Apparently I am still free to cancel the order, since the car would just sit on their lot until someone else buys it. Any thoughts? |
