^^^ I just read the DIY on the site. There aren't any special tools required. Just be careful changing out the sensors. You don't want to break them. Also, be sure to check your rotors to see if they have grooves in them. If they do you will need them turned (even though BMW recommends that you always replace them instead). Good luck. I need will be changing my pads to low dust pads in the future. The stock ones are a pain the ass. My wheels always look like they are gunmetal, even though they are silver.

Planning to order another HID kit. Anyone had and experience with 55w HID from DDMtuning? I've had the 35w, just wondering how the 55w would do in the Foglight or Xenon placing.

I wouldn't bother with a 55W kit in the fog lights. I have a 35W kit in my MTech fogs and they're barely useable since the reflector beam pattern is altered. I wouldn't want to add any more heat in those tiny, plastic-built fog light housings either. At least the MTech fogs use glass optics.

You might be eligible for injectors also.
Classic is ready to do mine anytime but I figure why fix it if it isn't broken? There is a new calibration out though: E9X-11-03-502. I figure I might as well get the car updated before I start on the coding work. |

Unfortunately I haven't been able to peel away from work lately and am traveling back and forth to Denver this week, but need to get to work on those LEDs. I might have a source but need to make sure they're actually 8500K. If you want to start looking, try to track down one of two part numbers from Cree: XPGWHT-L1-0000-00G51 XPGWHT-L1-0000-00H51 I'm using the G51 in the "0D" bin, which falls right around 7500K according to Cree's ANSI Cool White chromacity chart. The XP-Gs are available in only one color temp cooler, and that's the "0A" bin. The "0R" bin might work too for a more violet-looking color, but "0B" starts to look greenish. The ones in your current fixtures are supposed to be from the "1A" bin. ![]() EDIT: this source looks interesting. A R4 emitter from the 0A bin: http://www.earthtron.com/product_pag...L1-0A0-R4-0-01 And a R4 from the 0R bin: http://www.earthtron.com/product_pag...L1-0R0-R4-0-01 There's another chromacity color chart that I haven't figured out binning yet. Cree shows some bins that go all the way to 10,000K. Last edited by Imperator; 04-05-2011 at 01:13 AM.. |

No problems yet. No signs of failure. Might go ahead and do it anyways since I have some other stuff that needs to be done.

Ha...just dropped my car off at Classic this morning to do my HPDE inspection/brake flush and a couple other things. I haven't received a letter, but they said I'll be getting a new HPFP. I've never had any symptoms, and never had it replaced (42k miles). If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
