I think the pipe could fit but maybe the X5 platform is different

I'm just trying to verify what is correct. I couldnt imagine them developing this kit for the 335d and x5d simultaneously, although certainly possible. I would definitely be on board for the x5d kit, whenever it became available. |

it seems to me there is reason to believe the x5 and 335 pipes would be similar, so from a cost standpoint it would make sense to design one and then tweak as needed to fit the other rather than designing two pipes simultaneously which are going to end up being very similar

Just for an experiment, may be someone close to you who gets the pipe for the 335d can spend a day and try to fit it over to your X5. I know it's a pita to do, but may be worth an effort.

I'm a tuner newbie so please tolerate a question. Where/how are the OEM programming retained for reverting back? The OBD is locked so don't say its goes on what ever PC media and then loaded through OBD please.
Let's say I decide to sell the car down the road and its to a person in a state that gets emission check (like California). How will the OEM programming be restored. Different question: For whatever reason, the car is taken to dealer and the Ecotune programming is lost and replaced with OEM flash. How will I get the Ecotune programming restored. I'm looking for sensible answers here and then i will pay. Please let JR, Stan, or Campbell answer this. To those that have already paid, did you give a credit card # over the phone or can this be done through the Redline Speed Worx website? Last edited by BB_cuda; 04-28-2014 at 05:40 PM.. |

Gave a cc over the phone. When dealing with reputable companies, this should not be an issue. PS: yes, it would be nice to get a few discounted "back to retune" flashes if yours get erased by a dealer. |

Ecotune i believe reflashes back again for free but, who knows since they cant come up with the same story LOL everytime RS says one thing, Stan comes out with another or Campbell writes something else (sorry Stan had to put you guys out there, its the truth and we hv evidence of it) . I know RENNtech does . BTW you will have to pay shipping charges unless Eotune does it anyway. Yes, I hv to pay shipping charges just in case anyone wonders!!

You know its no hard feelings amigo. Even though you wont sell me that damn pipe pipe ALONE!! I will never disrespect either you or anyone here and never done so , but in benefit of all of us I tend to monitor things and say them the way i see them. Good luck as usual and BTW make a damn pipe for the X5d's I plan to get one hopefully for my future wife at the end of the year and of course I just want the pipe alone!!! I hv RENNtech to deal with. Gracias!!
