well fine, heres a little research for you.

dad - smoked, died of kidney cancer (renal cell) and also had prostate cancer
grandpa - smoked, died of old age but fought cancer twice (stomach, lung)
grandma - smoked, died of leukemia
uncle - smoked, died of cancer that was in lungs, veins and brain stem
aunt - smoked, survied breast and skin cancer
mom - smoked, survived uturine cancer

i don't need to read shit to know if you smoke you'll probably develop some kind of cancer.

Some type, yes. But which type, you should read up on. Smoking can cause many types of cancer, but, as I posted earlier, there are types that have not been shown to have any causal relationship with smoking. I too have had many deaths in the family due to cancer, some smoking related, some not. In the end our own personal experiences are merely anecdotal, rather than substantial enough to base further assumptions upon.

Assuming someone got cancer because they smoke is a very weak argument.

Assuming someone got X cancer because they smoke, and smoking is a cause of X cancer, is a much stronger one.

I was a smoker for a total of 2 months. Mostly while I was in China and a little bit when I was back in states. When I smoked, it leaves a tingling distaste on my tongue. It literally makes my whole mouth smells and taste like ashtray. They thing that drove the cravings was nicotine I think, everytime I passed by a store that has cig some "hunger" just comes up. Food that I eat taste weird all the time. Good thing I don't have the craving now. In any case I don't know what's the appeal of smoking. It was hard to give up once you started since it's more than a just a mental cravings, but just stay away from environment and ppl who smokes. After a few months the cravings slowly goes away.

Damn...after 2 months?

I smoked on and off for about 2 years in college...had no problem quitting...got very lucky in that regard. Literally just stopped. Some people struggle with quitting their entire life.

I'm saying that, in some cancers, whether or not the person was a smoker is irrelevant, as smokers have not trended towards developing the cancer in higher percentages than non-smokers have.

Yeah only 2 months. I was in China for quite a while and everyone smokes and it's extremely accessible, no excuse, but I follow suit and smoked the whole time I was there. When I came back, it took me couple more weeks and I slowly stopped. It's much easier here since not many ppl smoke.
