No expenses for me in April

I am about to add a tow bar (stealth) so May will probably end up being a grand by the time i`ve bought the bike rack as well

Gave the 35i a nice run to Stansted & back, lovely sunny day traffic was ok, other than queuing for 2 miles to get off M11 onto M25. Car didn’t miss a beat & returned 42.1mpg!!! Surely that’s a record for a N54 35i

Ive had just over 40 on a similar steady motorway run, in summer I generally get over 30 anyway as a matter of course, it dips just below 30 in winter. It doesn't like towns though

I still haven't found a V8 diesel Autobiography that presses all my buttons....but I do keep looking at a very nice 5.0i on auto trader, it's been up for a while. So I contacted the seller this afternoon asking what the bottom line could be for a cash sale, have said they'll get back to me tomorrow.

I like your confidence that, with 10 days to go, you won't be having anymore expenses

Sounds like you`ve got some great kit too, must have transformed the car for you?

That tickled me 😂

Anyone that's had a 35i any decent length of time has to be confident
How's it going Chapperss?

It's a few months of fuel only then a big wallop of pound cake whenever she feels like it

Only driven a couple miles in the thing since getting it all sorted, was told it will take some time to break in so it's sitting kinda high currently… does feel a lot less harsh over rubbish roads already though

Have decided to finally sell my 35i, currently in the for sale section, asking £5,000. Not really sure what it's true value is but 5k seemed a reasonable starting point, any opinions welcome

I'd seen that ad for the 5.0l too, it looks lovely and just the kind of thing I'd go for. I'm not in a position to buy until the end of the year so would you mind DMing me what he says on the price/what you pay so that I can keep tabs on the market?

My 35i needs top go before I move onto a RR so I wont be gazumping you, good to see the supercharged ones are coming into my price range though.

The guy got back to me yesterday & said the price is what it is & they wouldn't be accepting offers as apparently they have a few enquiries. I told him if they didn't work out to get back to me. There's also a Black one on AT with 52,000 miles not quite as nice, dealer said the same.
WBAC value them both around £27,500 & I'd be willing to go to £29,500, maybe £31,000 but we'll see.
I was optimistic that prices would have dropped more than they have. Would like to buy one before June 10th as we will be travelling to Norfolk for a little holiday & I don't fancy the journey with the Mrs & the two 'puppies' in the 35i & don't particularly won't to drive the dull discovery all the way there.
Will have to keep looking & remain optimistic that I can find an Autobiography with less than 70k

good luck, prices are softening but they are coming from a stupidly high base, hopefully by Xmas there will be plenty of a selection for me to go at.

I'm sure you wont but don't rush into it for the sack of one trip, the right one/deal will soon present itself to you

Think for what it is 5k is quite less as it's had a fair amount of preventative work done and mods…

Personally my own will be going up at the end of summer as I need 4drs with the new arrival so interested to see what price 335s are in demand for b4 I look at replacements… Think a range might age me ha

~$500 this month. At 140k miles on the dot, the Tstat housing took a shit so I went ahead and replaced that and my waterpump at the same time. Original water pump surprisingly had given 0 issues this entire time so I'm keeping it as a spare just in case. Went ahead and did the mickey mouse flange at the same time

Well another months almost gone by & the 35i is still currently running very nicely with no expenses other than fuel.
I am putting the search for a Range Rover on hold as the current asking prices are £5-£9,000 over the valuations by parkers, wbac & cazoo & none of the dealers seem to want to budge on price, it also seems that unless buying privately cash is no longer king as the dealers would rather sell to someone that they can sell finance to & get a commission.

Only just about gotten away with no maintenance related additions this month. Got a misfire in cylinder 6 yesterday and then after clearing it magically reappeared in cylinder 5 - Needs another drive to work out which one, and that will now be in June. Hopefully just coils.

Non maintenance

£300 for a detachable tow bar & £280 for a bike carrier - Loving not having to put the bike in the car anymore 10/10 would recommend

Have put my sensible head on & am going to look at a V8 diesel RR Autobiography over the weekend, more miles than I really wanted but it’s a reasonable price & Mrs Chappers is on my case for a car that she can take both the dogs out in.
Have attached a few pics below
