Have you read the error codes?

I have seen more threads about weird tial bov noises after inlets and I was wandering how it was going.

Post some logs and we'll see wats up.

Vtl read them a couple of weeks back and it was something to do with the secondary O2 sensor

This is what was saved when I last read your DME:

Sounds like its the post cat o2 on bank 2. Its annoying since the post o2 sensor really shouldn't affect the air fuel mixture and is only for measuring cat efficiency. To diagnose, I would disconnect the rear o2 sensors (easy job thankfully) and take it for a drive and see what happens when you go WOT.

UPDATE

Regular readers will remember I have woodland creatures hooting and shite under the hood since installing RBs and VTT lnlets
(page 33 post 705)

The first attempt to fix it by installing a larger vacuum reference line failed
(page 34 post 732)

The second attempt involved putting in a stiffer 9lb (white) spring
Unfortunately I have to report this failed too.....

The BOV is super stiff and really hard to compress the piston by hand, so it might be a problem with the actual BOV??
Next step is to take it into a turbo specialist and see if they can sort it out

Ah that sucks!

The white spring is supposed to be softer, did you notice it was easier to push the piston by hand? Also I read that some people noticed that the vaccum port on the tial has to be oriented correctly. Depending on the rotation of the 90 degree fitting, it can actually block the airflow and make it flutter. Might want to loosen the bolt on the vacuum port and see if its installed correctly.

LOL @ woodland creatures reference. Is it actuating when it shouldn't (under boost/WOT) or not actuating fully when triggered by vacuum?

Love the recent photos socket, car is looking beautiful.

When I rode in the car it was always fine under wot. Vented all the of boost fine.

It was partial loads that it made squawking noises (didn't sound as bad as the video). Sounded like there was not enough vacuum to actuate the BOV enough to vent all of the boost. Was much reduced after fitting the bung on the manifold but I would have thought the spring would have solved it.

Did you notice any difference after fitting the white spring?

Socks, that last pic is my fav! Great ride height and stance.

Regarding your BOV issues, could you not just swap with someone to test?

Piston actually feels harder, some noise reduction but Id guess about 10% only... not sure I follow about the vac port orientation

Thanks

10% better but only at low loads, no change at high loads.. feels like the spring is stiffer, not softer.. InQ took it for a run tonight and commented it just squawked the whole way

Thanks bro. Thats a good idea, Active didn't have a spare, anyone in Melb with a 50mm Tial that might like to do a quick BOV swap test??

Ugly wood grain trim is finally no more. Thanks to InQ (Cheers mate )
Nic is pretty good at fitting new trim seeing he's has had a lot of practice on his ride recently with his interior upgrade
Old trim out and replaced in under 20 mins..... nice
CF look is much nicer

. Not real CF just wrap mate. Costs about $350 to $400 to have it done professionally. You can do it for about $100 to $150 if you buy the wrap and do it yourself

Sucks about the BOV. Next softer is the black spring. It's a bugger here in Australia, you can't just go to the shop and try them all. The spring really is all it can be but it seems the white spring was not different enough.

Nice interior wrap. Looks great.

It's a bit of an art form being able to remove trim gently and to wrap cleanly.

I wrapped my front lip of my E36 M3 and whilst it came out ok, was not easy balancing odd angles and heat gun...
