^^ Thats a good question. I had to email my ROM to COBB so they could update the firmware, but I havent been able to figure out where or if I can save it to the AP Manager.

So is this available for the 335iS? I'm sure this has been asked before but there's too many pages.

I would think it's a function of AP Manager. There's got to be an export ROM function.

MY2007 N54 based vehicles (335i) have what is called k-line, or serial, communication from the OBDII port to a "gateway".

The difference between MY2007 and MY2008+ being I needed to write the BMW specific k-line driver to speak BMW over serial/k-line for 2007 support. I have done so and am stress testing the code now before I let in out for beta. Whenever I write a new communication protocol I like to make very sure it's solid before putting it in the hands of the customers.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,
Rob

It should not require and uninstall to update when the next revision maps are available.

I'm *shooting* for the next revision of maps by the end of march which should include revised stage 1 maps and stage 2 maps.

I just thought of this because I would imagine more users were leave their AP in their car in case of any emergencies where the car has to go back in for service but this also poses a potential risk of theft as well.

Alan
As of right now the process to save your stock ROM off the AP is manual. If requires you go to the "AccessPORT" menu on the AP and select "Export ECU Data". From there you can use APM to pull the stock ROM off the AP and save it. The process to import your stock ROM to a new AP in the case of a stolen or broken AP is also a simple manual process.

In the next week or two we will be releasing a updated version of APM that will automatically grab your stock ROM off the AP and store it for you. In the case of loading your stock ROM on to a new AP, APM will allow you to import the ROM to your AP.

Cheers,
Rob

No sir, not as of yet. I am looking for a local (Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin) 335is to develop the maps on. If that does not happen I have a gentlemen in LA who will allow me to use his 335is for development at our LA facility. The LA facility dyno likely won't be up for a couple more months pushing support out.

If anyone in the area around Dallas or Austin has or knows someone with a 335is who would be willing to allow us to use their car for map development, please feel free to contact me privately.

Cheers,
Rob

I'm so close to shipping my car out to Texas. Another 335is tester here in LA if you need. Patience is a virtue I suppose.

Rob,

Is there still a problem with the AP and the new software BMW released a few weeks ago? I'm about to take my car in for a new pump and most likely the new software will be applied and I want to buy an AP after the recall work is done.

Thx.

I think the newest software was 2.40.xx, don't hold me to it. BMWNA said I don't need new software just a new pump but I want still want to make sure everything is a go.

Took my car in today for the pump recall, and they also said they wouldn't be updating the software, as I had it updated last summer, and it should be fine. I'm also on 2.37. Too bad.

I thought people were saying the 2.40+ ones were much better over previous ones. Guess there's no way to convince them to do it under warranty if their system says it's not required?

Thank you for the update on '07 support! If you need a beta tester, let me know

P.S. Now that the '07 support hounding will be dying down, I will give you free warning, the next hounding you will receive will be "when will ATR software be released" based hounding!! Haha!! I won't lie, I'm anxious to tune this bugger myself

Thank you for all of your hard work, I hope they're paying you one hell of a salary!!

No worries as there are no issues with the AP and the latest BMW ROMs.

A little bit of info for y'all. The ISTA version is the version of software used to diagnose and flash the cars. It's not what is being put on to the cars.

Rob

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't INPA the diagnostic software and WinKFP the flashing software?
