Now my truck is full of tools and I use them every day. I was scheduled to drop my truck off at the body shop in late May. The car rental company that promised me a cargo van called the day before to confirm my rental. I said I'm ready, where do I pick up the van? Their response...Van???? No, we have your Durango ready. I sent them the following photo and told them I would not be responsible for any damage to the interior of the Durango. Needless to say they were not willing to give me the Durango. After a few phone calls with supervisors and supervisor's supervisors, we agreed that they would find me a van asap. Asap turned into 4 1/2 weeks. Luckily my bodyshop was more than accommodating and said they would take my truck in as soon as I found a van. 4 1/2 weeks later I get a call from the rental company, you guessed it, they don't have the van they promised but they will get me the very next one to be returned. I decided to use the new van that was sitting at the office waiting for the new shelving to come in and be installed. (That's a whole other story. )I dropped my truck off for it's repairs. Fast forward to picking up my truck at the body shop. It was one day late... no big deal except that as I walked up to check the repairs there was a scratch on the freshly painted door about five inches long. I went inside to bring the scratch to their attention. The paint shop manager was out in less than two minutes to see what had happened. He inspected, sent the truck back to have the scratch buffed out, had them buff out another scratch on the opposite side of the truck that had nothing to do with the original repair (a job I asked them to quote when the truck was in for the initial appraisal. Quote was $650. I declined.), and he gave me the new running board for the undamaged side of the truck to boot. All of this at quarter to closing before a long weekend. TL, DR: Often not being the Karen will get you a much better deal once the dust settles.

To answer the question about not to try surgery, well, last year they had determined a slight pancreas disfunction and he got medicine to improve the function. With beginning of the year his kidneys had dramatically decreased its function and so lots of poison stuffs were not washed out of the urin and had started the gout problem. At the end we had seen small yellow points at all of his joints and bone sections. Additionally the vet said, that the post surgery pain would ease his life at this point not necessarily to a better end, the more because his kidneys would stop entirely to work and so at the bitter end its a gamble of time to my selfishness against the welfare of my animal. On Friday he had a very good day, the new medicine seems to work and I got high hopes to turn this around, well knowing that this has to come to an end sooner or later. Now yesterday he was in that kind of bad shape, that it was beyond of crystal clear that the appoint at the vet on upcoming thursday would be much too late for his immediate pain and I had decided to spend the whole night with him, to call the vet early in the morning to get an emergency appoint to put Bibo down... Sounds cruel but at the moment I am glad that I was here for him until his final draw, laying onto my chest, got my heartbeat to his and he hopefully passed away with the knowledge, that I hadnt let him down until his end. Into my head I was also prepared to see the vet giving him his last injection, but this is for me and for him the better end. Im gonna burry him late this afternoon beside of Pietry and Im grateful to had thus small but though little persons into my life. I confess that this was the point which Id feared the most, Im now looking around in my living room and see the now final empty cage, birdys playground and lots of things which reminds me at very funny and sometimes also annoying times. Looking at Bibos remains are just breaking my heart...

now i have a 300hp 300ft lb Subaru with a CVT. the exhaust is very very quiet.
the CVT though, allows the car to accelerate and hold 6000rpm (err sometimes it's 5000rpm, depends on the mood of the thing) all the way until i chicken out. now i thought to myself nobody has ever posted a everything deleted loud exhaust of a CVT holding 6000rpm from 0-200 ... one day i'm going to do it! |

I confess that I hate paying mechanics for work that anyone with an adjustable and a screwdriver can do.
Installed the Fabspeed sports exhaust on Saturday no problem. 3 of the bolts on the first cats broke. No problem, I'll take them out and put new ones in. Of course Porsche pressed them in . No way I could take them out without taking the headers out and then torch them out. I don't have a strong enough torch for that. Had to take the car to the doctor today so I can pay for the same work that I had just done on Saturday |

There's a FML thread
I just hate paying mechanics for something I already had done. The exhaust is on, but I'm pretty sure they will have to remove it to get to the broken bolts on the first cats. Should've just payed them in the first place and saved 3 hours of my time. |

I'm intimidated from posting in the FML thread because people are talking about recovering from tragedy and cancer, and I want to complain about getting splashed by a car driving through a puddle

I confess it surprised me that "woke-ism" has even infiltrated the porn industry. Now you're a bad person because you don't want to have sex with HIV+ people, low copy count or not. Craziness! Where does it end?

I was on one of my doctors' patient portal a few minutes ago, and went into the "edit my profile" screen. Among the options was a pull-down list for primary language. Always curious, I opened the list to see what options were available.
To my surprise, the programmers must have found a list of EVERY known language...including 1600's AD English and 1100 AD Italian. I went in search of my favorite test case, and sure enough Klingon was there. Qapla' ! Seems like a bad thing to say to a doctor, but HeghluʼmeH QaQ jajvam. Of course I selected Klingon as my primary language and saved the preference.....

I think I actually cried in my sleep last night.
Not only did Dad show up to help me review the paint job, but Mom was there, ambling into the room to see what we were up to, just like old times.

One time at Thanksgiving dinner we were telling funny jokes. I thought it would be funny to share a joke I had just heard from a friend without thinking that it might not be appropriate for that setting. My Mom gave me heck for it. It's bothered me for all of these years so I am now confessing. I feel better now. Oh, you want to here the joke? What do Star Trek and Charmin have in common? They both go to Uranus to wipe out the Klingons. |

I originally rented an E-class, but a 420i GC was their substitute. It's pretty much a F30 as far as I can tell, with better navigation experience because they replaced the analog gauges with a screen

trying to keep my cool, avoid confrontation with certain relatives. i noticed increase in spam calls, unwanted emails. i googled my name, my number is linked to my brother, my sister and my parents. I have received random calls from telemarketers, vendors... asking for them. Also noticed email addresses using my name that is link to my sis, and bro. there has been no contact since 2018 |

Little League Baseball World Series is currently happening. I confess I like watching it more than Major League Baseball.
I was manager for my son's team for a few years. Those kids are so emotional and they try so hard. Their hearts are really into it. Was some of the best times I had with my son. That was more than 20 years ago. I remember like it was yesterday. Watching it on TV really brings back the memories. Last edited by Esteban; 08-27-2022 at 05:32 PM.. |
