Hey now! I detect sarcasm! I actually didn't come up with King Rudi. I feel like calling yourself king is a bit conceited. I got named and avatar made by my homeboy Soul_Glo
Not directed at you I do recall you sharing how the name came about and it’s evolutionary state that led to this. A couple/few iterations iirc.

More just here to post whole heaping amounts of nothingness. Carry on

I didn't want to be "all muscled up" I just didn't want to be fat anymore. Did little weight resistance training and did 1 hour to 1.5 hours of cardio 6 days a week. Seriously, we're talking 1.5 hours on an elliptical with the resistance set on about 3/4 of the max, 6 days. Made myself crazy catabolic and crazy skinny fat. Didn't realize it would be easier to build muscle, then lose the fat. I see too many fat muscular guys at the gym. Yes, they can lift big heavy weight, but they aren't in shape, they're just big. They're belly is as big as their arms, chest and shoulders. Didn't want to be bigger, wanted to be lean and cut. I started this cut cycle mid-February at 149 pounds. I'm trying to lose the fluff slowly but damn it's hard. I've already lost 13 pounds. I'm at 136 as of this morning. The goal is to get to 146 - 150 at around 10-12% body fat. Getting there, just takes time and persistance. I was so lean in September the veins in my obliques and v-taper were very visible. I look skinny as shit until I take my shirt off
Wow. How tall are you? Yes, it seems you are almost overdoing it with the cardio stuff. I mean I do a lot myself but not at that crazy level! You're right about the muscle dudes at the gym, they look big and strong (and they often times are), but as you said, they've got a gut sometimes. Lean muscle mass is the way to go.

Needless to say and I'm very sure you are more than aware of this, but DIET is extremely important. In other words, what you put in your body makes a big difference. For the past year or so I've stayed away from PUFA oils, mainly seed based oils because that shit is nasty and causes inflammation which is unhealthy. I haven't felt better since doing so. Less bloated and a general feeling of health if you will. Hard as hell to get in that habit (no fried foods, potato chips, typical salad dressings, mayo, etc.) Combined with a good diet and regular exercise, I'm fairly happy with the results but have to keep it up. As you know, it's very easy to fall out of it due to burn out or other.

Oh and lastly, the most underrated thing and one I am guilty of, SLEEP. I don't get enough of it but that has a tremendous impact on your ability to be healthy and fit. I honestly think it may be the most underrated thing when it comes to being healthy.

I'm 5' 9". I was most definitely over doing it with the cardio. This past Saturday I did cardio for the second time since October. Valiant effort at almost 45 minutes and just a little over 400k/cal burned. I'm good with that. I've all but eliminated my cardio completely. For time management, if I want to burn 200 calories, rather than running it off, I track what I eat and just don't eat the 200 calories, saves me the time from actually doing the cardio. I also want to keep those calories to build muscle. My routine these days is kind of a hybrid push/pull/leg split done twice a week, no cardio unless I've over eaten my allotted calories for more than 2 days in a row and aside from the girlfriend offering snacks, my diet is spot on. Good carbs, lean proteins and healthy fats. I've reached that phase where food is only fuel and I don't mind to eat the same thing over and over again as I know how many calories/macros are in what I eat. My weakness is, late at night, post sex, I'm starving and want to eat everything. The trick is to eat nothing. If I eat a bite of something the fat kid in me wakes up and wants to eat everything in the house. I find that eating pickles helps. Three small pickles registers no caloric value whatsoever.

The sleep thing gets me too. I'm a typical Type A personality, I'm 100 mph as fast and as hard as I can go from the second my eyes open until my head touches a pillow. 10-12 hours of work a day, 1.5-2 hours at the gym, then shower, then sex. I usually get about 4-5 hours a night. I'd love to get more sleep but my day is stacked already. To get more sleep I need to work less, not spend time at the gym and not see the girlfriend. None of those 3 are changing. Lack of sleep it is!

+1

I'm terrible with sleep, and it makes literally everything in life more difficult!

Well done! You have a lot more willpower than I do for sure. Rather than go to the gym I just bought my own equipment instead. Almost commercial grade (treadmill, elliptical, spinning bike, weights) and I can work out any time I want and don't have to look at the muscle head dummies staring at themselves in the mirror. I find that cuts down on the amount of time wasted going to and from the gym, etc. Don't pay a membership fee either, but of course it's an upfront investment for ownership of said equipment.

Ha, among those choices I certainly understand how sleep becomes the victim

Last year, at the beginning of Corona-geddon, when the gyms closed; I tried building a small gym in my office at home. I got a few miscellaneous dumbells, a chin-up/pull-up bar, some rings and parallettes. I learned to do pretty much everything (for the excetion of overhead presses) on the bar/rings and parallettes. I still don't have the balance down to do shoulder presses on the parallettes. When the gym opened back up, I had all kinds of new shit to try out calisthenics-wise at the gym. I get some pretty funny looks at the gym from the "muscle-y guys" until they see what I'm doing. I do a lot of calisthenics stuff on the overhead bar on the smith machine. The muscle guys think I'm setting it up for squats until they see me jump up and grab the bar. After doing leg raises, L- sits, L-sit pull ups, windshield wipers and wide-grip pull-ups, those guys shake their heads at me. I've even had a couple look at me and say "F*ck that!" It's those moments that I live for. Guys twice my size that can't do a pull up, just makes me smile. I have people coming to me almost weekly asking for tips on ab exercises. I'm actually seeing people in the gym mimic some of my workouts now. This too makes me smile. I'm completely new to all of this (2 years), at least I look like I know what I'm doing enough for other people to copy me.

Nice. BTW, somehow we got a bit sidetracked talking about gym conquests and fitness. LOL. Some of the others are probably like "WTF are these two babbling about? This is about dating damn it!"

Trust me, no one thinks a thing about it. This thread has been de-railed so many times it's comical. Most threads on here only make it to page 2 or 3 before being thread-jacked.

Plus it’s your thread. You can’t hijack your own thread.

By the way, I’m running out of popcorn.

Good news:

Girlfriend is moving in on May!

We're going to split rent, which saves me about $800/mo. And after I got turned down from buying property (did you know you can't take a mortgage if you don't have a green card/citizenship?).... I'm getting ready to buy a car

Extremely happy how this has unfolded, I get to have my gf with me, and I can afford to own a nicer, faster car

Moving was ass, I realized I had way too much crap. Started picking out stuff as I was unpacking and I've started getting rid of it. For a college student in the last 4-5 years I've accumulated a dumb amount of stuff. Then you have my girlfriend who's just going to pack her Jetta and drive

Fuck this guy. Seriously, why is he refusing to give my jacket back. Such a fucking asshole. If he wants to hold onto it that bad, fuck him. What a weirdo.

Thanks for showing me the red flags that were blurry to me guys (and girls). I dodged a bullet with this one for sure. Can you imagine if I went out with him longer how controlling he would have turned into?? I’m really glad that waiter incident happened now.

I didn't flat out say that he was being a dick to the wait staff on the first date and I didn't appreciate that, though I guess I should have, or the fact that he was smothering me to death with a hundred text messages. I tried to be very nice and texted him that I was super busy with life and don't have time to hang out with him. I thought that was a nice, easy way to let someone down. Clearly I was mistaken. I don't think it justifies him not allowing me to have my belongings back.
