How much does this cover cost? My solution was to just buy a used heated sport wheel in good shape for 50 bucks...

BUT... yours look a ton better!

$20 off ebay.

Every single used heated sport steering wheel is grimey and worn. Every single one I've ever come across. The only viable solution is re-wrap or buy a new one.

Lol yup. In 2.5 years of having this 328, I've yet to see a E9X heated sport wheel that isn't super shiny and worn down, and yet they still ask $200 for them...

Gotta go to a scrap yard and buy one from a low-miles vehicle that has a blown airbag still in it. They think the wheel is junk because of the blown bag, but it just pops off. I said i wanted it for the controls.

I don't have a picture, but mine came off an 87k 2011 e92. It was a little dirty, but nothing like mine which has bits of leather flaking off (160k and also bad me driving with grimy hands)

e90 335i exhaust

Anyone have any suggestions on where i can look for a great sounding performance exhaust for a e90 335i xdrive sedan with the N55. I'm having a pretty hard time finding any. Most websites ether don't have them or tell me it wont fit my car after putting in my info.

Installed some mud guards to try to prevent some of the salt and dirt from coating my car. Much less spray on the highway then before.

My OCD nature couldn't tolerate knowing the wheel was not upholstered as good as it could be.

Removed all the stitching and I went to town on it with lessons learned from attempt number one. I pulled the threads much tighter and lined up the seams as best as I could, maintaining evenly spaced cross-stitching across the entire wheel. I used a hair dryer on high heat to warm up the 9 o'clock arm as the leather wasn't fully flush with the underside there and I would feel this every single time I touch the wheel.

I'm pleased to say the results are VASTLY improved! This is as close to perfect as I can DIY this, and dare I say it's almost factory-like now. I added some gorilla glue to the back folds to make them as flush with the underside as possible. Everything fits beautifully now.

No wrinkles, no oddly spaced threads, everything neat and tidy. I'm sure the heat will be better felt too as the cover is on there as tight as I could get it.

I love it! I may even sell my M-Sport wheel now and just use this year-round

Before (top) and after (bottom) heating and pressing in:

Backside:

Close-up of the stitching pattern. I went with a single thread instead of the double as per all the DIY videos on this. It looks much cleaner:

Final result:

Before (top) and after (bottom). Such a huge difference!

Would that particular cover work with a steering wheel that has paddles ?

Yes, paddles are on the main hub part of the wheel and not the rim, so no issues.

I don't see why not. The paddle shifter cutouts are further inwards on the side arms.

Thanks! I was semi-regretting it earlier but figured I'd give it another shot before throwing in the towel. I'm so glad I did! Now to swap over the more chiselled M Sport/M3 trim. Wonder how much the rounded wheel base would show...

Looks really good makes me want to find a trashed wheel and start a project... very inspirational

Nice, where did you get them?

Don't think they'll fit an M Sport bumper though :

I ordered them from England on Amazon. They do specify no M Sport though unfortunately.

Thanks dude! Glad I could help convince you to spend more $ All I can say is use the double sided tape liberally, line up the seams along the existing stitching, and don't be afraid to pull it tight! This DIY is 90% patience, 10% skill.

After driving with it I couldn't stop feeling thrilled with this. This is easily in my top 5 mods on this car now as it's something you touch literally all the time you drive. The feeling of a brand new, soft leather steering wheel is well worth the $30 and couple hours of labor! And best of all - it's still heated

Going to be putting my M-Sport wheel for sale ASAP. It took me a while to hunt down one in such great condition, lol. Ah well.

Here's another photo. Pardon the filthy footwells - I hate winter.

That cover looks great! Looks OEM! Here's mine

The double sided tape didn't stick well in the winter (check bottom center) I plan on using a hairdryer to get the adhesive to stick properly

And don't mind the leftover thread when I took it haha
