BimmerLabs 125i to 130i --> Dyno Results
Quote:
Dynodynamics in kw. But I've done a conversion to HP and estimated DynoJet result/gains.

My car went from averaging 24 mpg to 20 mpg after the tune. And it is not from driving like a jackass after the tune. I have NGK laser platinum plugs right now. I'm wondering if that is part of the problem, since the 330i is spec'd with laser iridium. I just ordered a set of laser iridium plugs to try out and see if that makes any difference.

Since i put in the NGK ruthenium plugs everything has been perfect, iridiums should be great too. If your coils have over 100k i would replace those. |

EDIT: 2 months later I'm at 23.7 average. I changed out one coil pack that was older than the rest and changed my rear diff fluid. Those are the only things that could have contributed to improved mileage. Last edited by firesnatch; 10-18-2024 at 03:56 PM.. |

One last update, I had the weird rough cold start after the tune. Turns out my valvetronic football gasket was not sealing anymore. I had leaking oil on the valve cover in pools and fuel trims +10%. I replaced the gasket but i had not installed it properly and the problem got worse. To install the gasket properly i laid it on my bench table with motor facing side down and tried to bend the mounting screw hole tabs towards the table. This required a shit tonne of force to maybe move it 0.25 to 0.5mm. I then installed the gasket ensuring it was seated correctly to the plastic valve cover and torqued the bolts down. You can then insert the motor and align the inner gasket with the motor screws and torque it down. Now insert the last motor screw at the bottom of the motor and torque it down. This fixed my rough cold start and my trims are +-2%. I have seen messages about this tune causing rough cold start. It does not cause the rough start, but will be more apparent since the valve lift has been increased.

Sorry if I missed it but how are you logging fuel trims? |

I used dashcommand app and a generic bluetooth obd adapter. Its easier to log while im driving and record the whole trip. |

Is the tune in the above post the right for me? I got 2005 330i (euro version) with 2 stage (2 flaps) intake manifold. |
