Ya the guy who posted about hacking is a dumbass and because of him the product is delayed. However in the long run it was probably for the best because it makes the sharkedit a more desireable platform which means more options and better prices for us. Definetly worth waiting another 80 days in my book...

If I'm reading the right post, he didn't claim he would hack the post, just that the opportunity is there. That's all well and good but the community SHOULD be open. What is all this IP bullshit? The fact that the hacking thought came into anyone's mind is just kind of sad...

I have to say I like how Jim stays off the forums until he actually has something to say, rather than pumping his future release in the hopes of stealing sales away from competitors.

Fellas, who ever said it was a "he" rather than a "she". I believe it was the latter. But with the "internets" you never know.

Sorry Jim had to start from square one. The reality is, he will likely lose sales now due to JB3's release this month which is a real shame. The good news is, if his product is THAT GOOD, any tune except the Dinan can be sold to recoup some costs, then go buy Jim's product. |

You guys need to think outside of the box just a bit. SharkEdit isnt JUST for the N54 cars... in fact that is only one segment of his target market. SharkEdit is much larger than the JBs, SSTTs, Procedes and any other box or N54 flash. It is a fully programmable solution for pretty much ANY 84ish+ BMW. |

While the N54 isn't his only segment it will be his largest segment by far and if he has a product to release he should do it now before his would be customers spend their money elsewhere. The clock is ticking my friend...and it should sound like Cha-Ching but right now it sounds more like Cha-Chump. |

You would like to think that e9x owners would have more sense and honesty than this. It's a shame this isn't out any sooner. 6 months from now though, I'm sure Jim will be singing a different tune. There's a lot more tune's to be sold...

Any ability to comment on the progress or potential of either: a) Jim packaging a map he's working on with the Edit so we end users can have something from the day of release? b) release timeframe or progress of just the Injector? If the Injector is still a good bit out, and we won't get a packaged map for the Edit from Jim (reinforcing that the Edit is a product for expert tuners to be middle-men in the usage and distribution of it), then I can see many folks, probably me included, falling into the same product purchase cycle that we saw with the WRX scene 5 years ago. Piggies got to the point of being pretty refined and good, so we bought them, then a year or so after that point solid flashes like Cobb's were out (and EASY to use...just plug it in, select what you want, and hit GO...no editing, coding, etc) so at that point we sold the piggies and got the flashes. |

I had the Utec when it came out and hated the terminal interface. Damn that was dumb. Then I traded it to someone who purchased a new accessport but didnt like to not be able to change any parameters. Then Cobb released StreetTuner (I think that is what it was called). Essentially what is happening here is straight to StreetTuner. As for commenting... a) No idea whatsoever. Personally I consider it highly unlikely considering how I know Jim. However, I think a simple base tune with slightly higher boost might be a good idea. I will talk to him the next time we speak about SharkEdit. b) SharkEdit comes first plain and simple. Once that is done, who knows. He will be a first time father real soon, so I think that will occupy a good amount of his time for a while. One SharkEdit comes out other reputable tuners can put their flash on an Injector and sell it. At least that is my understanding on how this is going to work. |

All I hear are crickets. My prediction...by the time J.C's SE/SI tune is available for the N54 335i/135i/535i, the 335i will already have it's 1st major refresh in 2010.
