My car went from averaging 24 mpg to 20 mpg after the tune. And it is not from driving like a jackass after the tune. I have NGK laser platinum plugs right now. I'm wondering if that is part of the problem, since the 330i is spec'd with laser iridium. I just ordered a set of laser iridium plugs to try out and see if that makes any difference.

Since i put in the NGK ruthenium plugs everything has been perfect, iridiums should be great too. If your coils have over 100k i would replace those.

Thanks for the tip. It has been a few weeks and I forgot to post an update. I put in new NGK 1208 Laser Iridium plugs. My gas mileage went back up from 20mpg average to 23.2 average, which is pretty close to what I had before. So good enough for me.

EDIT: 2 months later I'm at 23.7 average. I changed out one coil pack that was older than the rest and changed my rear diff fluid. Those are the only things that could have contributed to improved mileage.

One last update, I had the weird rough cold start after the tune. Turns out my valvetronic football gasket was not sealing anymore. I had leaking oil on the valve cover in pools and fuel trims +10%. I replaced the gasket but i had not installed it properly and the problem got worse. To install the gasket properly i laid it on my bench table with motor facing side down and tried to bend the mounting screw hole tabs towards the table. This required a shit tonne of force to maybe move it 0.25 to 0.5mm. I then installed the gasket ensuring it was seated correctly to the plastic valve cover and torqued the bolts down. You can then insert the motor and align the inner gasket with the motor screws and torque it down. Now insert the last motor screw at the bottom of the motor and torque it down. This fixed my rough cold start and my trims are +-2%. I have seen messages about this tune causing rough cold start. It does not cause the rough start, but will be more apparent since the valve lift has been increased.

Thanks for this info, I definitely have a cold rough start with an initial high idle.

Sorry if I missed it but how are you logging fuel trims?

Oh yeah i had the high rpm cold start too, it also went away with the vacuum leak fixed.

I used dashcommand app and a generic bluetooth obd adapter. Its easier to log while im driving and record the whole trip.

I have talked to quite a few guys with N52s that wanted to do the swap but didn't know how to tune the car and the price of a tune like Stage FP, AA, etc seemed high so this should help.

This should be a fairly comprehensive video guide of exactly how I did it aswell as a few troubleshooting steps for issues I had when getting the computer to recognize the cable and flashing process.

I've linked all the websites in the description of the video but thought I'd do it here aswell.

Guys, i got ECU tune for catles headers and remap but i need to put the stockheaders with catalitic convertors back and i would like to return on stock ECU setup.
Is the tune in the above post the right for me?

I got 2005 330i (euro version) with 2 stage (2 flaps) intake manifold.

Checking Cable Works with INPA before flashing

I was attempting my bimmerlabs flash today. I've read you should check if your cable works with INPA before flashing. When I checked I noticed my screens are different from everyone. I don't see the option to select your car E90 and etc. Instead of using the BimmerGeeks Pro cable, I'm using a BimmerGeeks Expert K+DCAN Cable.

I followed both Bimmerlabs and BimmerGeek install instructions. I even skipped deleting folders "Bimmergeeks has a nice download for this as well (note: if you download from them, skip the step where it asks you to delete the folders)". I didn't delete any folders and I didn't replace any folders.

So at this point I wasn't sure if my cable was not communicating or if I did something wrong and didn't want to risk flashing rsa delete and bricking my car.

Let me know if I missed something or if something is wrong.

Car is 2006 E90 325i USA. 3 Stage Intake Manifold and DISA valves already installed

Something is really screwy with your inpa install. Also make sure your cable is set to the right com port, usually COM1

Hi guys, my friend has a E60 523i with N52b25 and would like to upgrade to 3SIM with 2 DISA, also flash to unlock the disa and horse power just like 323i to 325i or 328i to 330i.

In bimmerlabs after enter VIN only two stock files showed up, no RSA delete file

Are these 525i file for unlocking 3SIM tune? Or they are just stock 323i file that if I flash nothing will happen?

If it's upgrade, can I flash without RSA delete?

Thank you so much for the forum and everyone!
