in my experience adapatations don't take long to adjust. 2-3 WOT pulls on the dyno and they were there.

Just a thought!!

Also I know my power range was 2nd and 3rd gear etc between 5k-7k rpm with the stage 3 anyone know?
adaptation reset will not make it faster, you still have to go through
that 2-300 miles. but its not bad idea to have it clear out since you just
got the tune.

only time i had it reset is when tune is not kicking in correct after few flashes between ESS and factory tune when visiting dealer.

it takes more then stock adaptation to maximize DISA, there is a lot of clever torque management build in to stock tune to limit the HP.

also you need have the adaption reset since tune is not kicking in correct.

mine is N51 so wont have issue adapting DISA.

Ehh. When I changed my Vanos solenoids, reset adaptations at the same time. Drove around gently for a few miles and the throttle devolved a "dead spot" when 1 inch of pedal travel did nothing.

Even after a few WOT pulls this remained until I reset it again.

Thanks. Is this the driving adaptation procedure involving the start button, gas pedal and 2 minute wait or are you talking about something else? That would possibly help (and not hurt) this AA tune situation?

you need some sort of tool like Bavarian technic to reset the adaptation.

im not sure if new AA tune tool can do that.

Yeah get yourself a BAVTECH tool. I love mine use all the time with weird issues on my car.you can get for 150 for one car setup on Amazon. I have the enthusiast edition. Even if you put your car back to stock you can still use the tool. It can find shadow codes which Bmwhat app can't find.

So I think if the sputter/shutter continues I will be reseting some adaptations. So far no issues. What's scary was, I thought it was my cutch?? Because it only happened while disengaging from first.

Sooooo I broke something I don't even know what it is. It's a plastic pipe on the back of the engine near the fire wall. I guess I just snapped it off when i took out the manifold. I have no idea what to do now lol :/

That's a pcv hose just buy a new kit.. That's usually necessary for any possible future issues, might as well.

Yeah, I found that out. It's in the shop now since I broke something and decided it would be a hell of a lot easier for them to just do it. Thank you though.

it wouldn't really be any different than a car that came with it from the factory.

Yeah. Twice. Did the AA tune and 3IM on my 06 325xi, and again on my 09 328xi. Works fine. The cost/hp ratio is good for the 3IM, and the tune, but I couldn't see dropping $1k for an exhaust which gives a couple HP, but that's definitely personal preference.

I don't remember from the 06, but since I just did the 09, at 82k miles, the original spark plugs were SHOT. I kind of thought the 3IM install didn't give me as much as I recalled from the 06, but figured it needed to adapt. No, it really needed new plugs. Spent the hour to install those and now it pulls like it should. A 100k change interval is total BS, even for the non-turbo.

I run it with the stock exhaust and AA tune...no issues. Runs great.

Like the other guy mentioned, if you are looking for hp/$ then the manifold and tune are worth it, but exhaust is costly and won't give you much besides a more aggressive sound

It's been mentioned, but these cars do require a bit of adapting after driving a long distance on the highway or at light throttle. Give it a few WOT runs before it starts to wake up. It just gets used to highway cruising for MPG after a while and cuts back on throttle response.

Cool, thanks.

I plan to do the intake and AA tune next year. I think I'm going to keep it pretty basic.

Hello

I drive a 325i EU Type

so can anyone tell me how much power I gain with just installing the 330 manifold with all necessary parts without flashing the ECU?
Because i am from Germany and i dont know who could Flash my N52 325i ECU to a 330i N52
can someone give me the part numbers which are needed and the amount of everything?

is yours an N52B25 or N52B30? if it's a B30 the tune part is significantly easier.

EDIT: N52B25

again a question
after i checked my VIN on a BMW database following issue
i got the manifold with the number
11617559525
so now i Need the new one which hase the number
11617559523

I am wondering about thos DISA Devices because on my manifold i got the 2 DISA Units with the number
•DISA valve (large), 11617579114
•DISA valve (small), 11617560538

So i just Need

the whole Manifold 11617559523
•intake manifold profile gaskets, 11617547242
•throttle body seal ring, 13547522361
and connect my both DISA Units 2 the new Manifold

and Flash my ECU trough active autoworks

am i correct???

Very excited! I just ordered a 3-Stage complete with working DISA valves from a place in Oregon for $500 shipped. I can't wait to install it. I will run OE Tune for a bit and get the AA tune at the start of the year most likely.

I don't have huge expectations, I just hate knowing the 328 left some power on the table that an OEM part can fix.

Do the tune and then let's talk about your expectations, likely bigger difference than you think. 3 stage without tune will not be that amazing before tune - get the tune and it will be well worth it... Especially for that price. I paid double and still worth every dime!

The euro N52B25 already has a 3 stage inlet manifold. A tune would help I think, but gains are marginal.

The 325i -> 330i mod only exists for N53B30 engines after a 3 stage IM swap.

Oh yea, my expectations with a tune are pretty high based on what I've read. I should have clarified, my expectations with the OE tune are not very high.
