making it happen

close but in the end I didnt think we would even be close to a 3-1 record. Cant wait to see what ben brings to the table and hopefully dosent complement tiger woods current standings.

yeah yeah I know different sport but a 6 month plus vacation from work has its effects.

Go Steelers offence!

Anyone in the Pittsburgh area interested in a recently repainted Black Sapphire Metallic JB Speed OEM style front lip. Fitment is dead on. Bought this off Drew (headlee103) and it was originally painted Alpine White.

I was just curious to see if anyone had one, I want to get one basically for the coding reason right now. I had a similar setup for my VW and it paid for itself.

thats hard to believe cause they really would have no use for it. most shops like autozone, advance, pepboys, etc.. use those generic scan tools for basic CEL codes. if anyone can confirm this i'll prob sell my BT scan tool lol

I used the autozone OBII tool once before, Its not really what you say it is. Yes it can "read" codes, but only very generic codes like emissions etc...

Thats all it does, it does not read shadow codes nor can it go into specific modules and pluck information like the bt tool.

Also, you can do reset the service light without the BT tool

Dealer Experiences

Thought it would be a good local discussion.

BUYING THE CAR

A & L
I have walked into A&L dealership 3 times with the intent to purchase a car that same day and they acted like I was a customer looking for fun.

After they found out I bought 3 cars from other dealerships the manager called me and apologized.

I would understand if I walked in with shorts and a t-shirt but their sales practices confuse me.

SEWICKELY
Have gone there 3 times and they were professional but non-negotiable on the cars I was interested in.

BOBBY RAHAL
no experience

P&W
Have brought 3 cars from them new and used for great prices and service until 6-2010 (last service visit)

SERVICE
I purchased my last car at P&W and it was a excellent experience but the service dept as of 6-2010 had had a lot of employee turnover
EG-Ipod was not working and had to bring the car back 2 times to have it fixed, during which I had to wait 3 days because they had to reset the firmware and operating system. In the end the Ipod USB interface in the glove compartment was broken and had to be replaced.

They didnt check and just assumed it would work the first 2 times.

MOD PERSPECTIVE
p &w seem to be a hush hush dealership and have gone there several times with a AFE DCI, golf tee mod, clutch stop, modded CDV, and they never said anything

Spotted two E90s tonight in the Mon Valley,

First leaving work, in a hospital garage- black E90, tinted, ? Forgestar wheels, ACS and M3 rear spoilers, E90post and N54tech stickers, pens plate frame.

Then driving home through Donora, silver 335xi(e92), with Spitzer acura plate frame, and possible dealer sticker in back rear window?

I never see any, especially when driving my car.

Skid,

I totally agree with you. When i was in the hunt for a used bmw, I went to the local bmw dealerships to see what I can get my hands. A to be perfectly honest, A & L had a 325, and I was ready to make out with it. When I got there, they thought I could have been homeless. I mean I may have looked like a "punk" but I was ready to buy.

Sewickley has very nice cars, but after talking with them most of their new cars have a few packages and out of my price range.

I haven't dealt with P&W or Bobby, but have heard good things.

After doing all my research I ended up bypassing the dealer completly. I found a private buyer (a doctor in Jeanette PA) he was selling an 08 335xi with 20k miles on it. It had everything i was looking for (nav, winter package, etc). I was able to buy private party for 8k less then I would have paid for the same car at a BMW dealer.

Yes you get a CPO with the car but as of right now I still have the factory complete care warranty untill July 2011, and then will be extending the warranty through BMW untill July of 2013 for an additonal 3k, which according to the woman at P &W I will get 2500 back if I do not have any major mechanaical claims during that time period. So i would still have all my regular maint covered and can decide as major issues come up if i want to pay out of my pocket or use the warranty.

I have the extended warranty on my vehicle, purchased about 6 months ago, warranty expired about 2 months ago. I never knew BMW would return most of the cash i spent on the warranty if nothing major occurs...
