If it was his own personal watch, and he's the CEO of a company, I see no reason to suspect it is fake.

ETA -- I would ask him about the box and papers - you'll need it in order for the warranty to be valid. Plus, they're just nice to have and make the watch worth more, should you ever decide to sell.

Rolex will not service any watch that's modified.

Post some pics and we will likely be able to tell you. One way to know is to remove the caseback and look at the movement.

True. I would expect companies like Titan Black and MAD Paris to provide their own warranties for the watches they sell, however. He'd probably need the box/papers for that type of warranty.

Maybe the CEO had the DLC applied by a company like International Watch Works, though, which would prevent service/warranty from Rolex.

Who knows?

Still waiting in anticipation of a lovely market crash so I can pick up a used sub from some guy willing to offload it for 50% of the price. In a downturn, luxury goods are first to go.

You're wanting to lose a bunch of money in the market so you can get a cheap Rolex, seems smart

I gotta agree with 1more here. Even if you have lowered your equity position, I am guessing most of us stand to lose significantly more from a market correction than the discount on a Rolex. Your statement makes little financial sense.

all depends how deep you are in the market... there are many many people sitting on the sidelines ready to jump back in when things tumble... this is rolex aside.

For you, me or everyone else? All of those probably have a different answer.

Doubtful. Unless you are telling us you have 0 equities. If so, too bad.

Regardless, we all need more Rolexes. For me next question is vintage or new Daytona?

Let's just take an example and again... this is not my specific instance whatsoever... but let's say someone has $5mil in cash with 0 equity... and someone else has $200k in cash with $4.8 mil in the current market... i'll take the former anyday simply because i prefer it and the market can tumble anyday... again, not everyone will agree with this and not everyone's stituation will be the same.

All else aside, I want a black submariner no date... seems to retail $7500 but everyone tells me its a 3 mos wait...

LOL. If he's the type who's waiting for a "market crash" so a few grand off a Rolex brings it within reach, he's probably not going to lose a bunch of money. Moves up or down don't have a material impact to those with no exposure.

Picked up a two-tone Everose GMT as well as the Pepsi GMT with the Jubilee bracelet a few months ago from my AD. I've never been a two-tone fan but I'm absolutely in love with this piece. It's been the Rolex I've worn most often out of the 10 or so I have, while the Pepsi/Jubilee sits in the case. I still haven't warmed up to the Jubilee on a sports Rolex I guess, but I will say it's slightly more comfortable on the wrist.

5 years from now, you'd still have $5mm in cash. What a ridiculous strategy.
The Rolex market is crazy right now, stainless steel Daytona's are going up like 10% every few months. Debating selling mine because prices are just silly.

Yeah he probably would be better off spending that money on finance classes rather than a Rolex. Lol.

Enough for how long? You like watch your account shrink rather than grow? Not to mention inflation.

I could retire tomorrow with $5mil and never work a day in my life.. again; different priorities for different people... Your probably one of those that will work till he's 70 bcuz here is greedy for that last $1, I see this on the daily but it's ok; everyone's preference is different. Do what you gotta do; I'll do what I gotta do...

Back to the topic at hand... has anyone heard of a quicker delivery date than 3 mos right now?

Quicker if you have a relationship with AD. If not, wait or look on chrono24.

About 6 months back, another store of mine told me about 1-1,5 months... again things may have changed drastically since. I've bought another watch from this store before; not sure if that gave me any headway.
