I am not planning on doing this without a spring removal tool of some kind, be it the real deal, this Alibaba version, or Hass's method.

Been running it on my N55 for 10 months. Don't have a dyno, but running 2 psi less and the butt dyno says it's just as fast. Also run out of fuel at lower boost.

I’d like to see a dyno. And I’m not so worried about the torque gains (actually, I’d want LESs torque) and more worried about having more power at 6k+ RPM. |

Add 'bolt-ons' and dyno for results. Air intake and exhaust, then add MILVs. PM me and I will set you up with a deal if you can do before and after dynos. |

Tunes are SO expensive and there are so many options. I see myself working with Bob@BPC again, but I l’m particular with what I want - linear powerband that carries to redline. I’ve been reading N55 graphs and builds all night, and I hate the huge increase in torque at 2000RPM that drops off at 5000. On the S55 MLIV dyno, it added 35whp to top end, which was nice, I’m going to see (eventually) what it can do on the N55. It’s likely going to have to be a custom tune. |

So I just cleaned out my Vanos solenoids, and it has made a pretty dramatic difference in smoothness and performance with the MILV's up top, and at idle. Highly suggest this is done along with the install to try and get the most out of them.
I used this video for the DIY which instructs you to open and close the Solenoids with a 9 volt battery. It is the only real way to fully clean them out. I also checked the vanos filtes, but those were spotless. The solenoids let out some grime that has accumulated over 120k miles. |
