You got a double thingy gadget. Ours only has a single bulb at the top, but I can see that middle one making it easier to hold in place. You have to strike the shell pretty hard to get it to break.

Wife uses it all the time, and we store all the shells to make confetti eggs for Easter.

Second attempt with the gadget. This time I dropped the weight twice and it did a better job at scoring the shell. Not a perfect cut but I can work with it. I'll give it a score of 6 out of 10.
