So on July 5th, I totaled the Duc 900SS. Worst accident so far. Broke my wrist but with all the gear I was wearing, I'm alright. I've been back on a new bike and decided to step away from Ducati this time. I also wanted a true superbike but wanted to stay V Twin. So, I copped this 2007 Aprilia 1000R with Ohlin's at the front and back, and some other mods. This bike is so much more than the 900SS and asks so much less of me. I'm getting more and more comfortable and confident of the bike and myself every week. Amazing piece of machine. Can't wait to track it next season.

I love the dual pipes on the Aprilia, sweet bike. Sorry about the accident.
I had a Falco and loved that bike, Aprilia's are great and under appreciated due to lack of a dealer network, unlike Ducati. |

Did a ride to the Everglades a weekend or two ago and brought my DSLR along....
Definitely coming back that way, it was one of the nicest rides I've done in Florida. 1 Diavel at Everglades National Park by ddk632, on Flickr 2 Diavel at 9 Mile Pond by ddk632, on Flickr 3 A Backdrop of Trees and Sky by ddk632, on Flickr 4 Bokeh of the Diavel by ddk632, on Flickr 5 Fiery Hell of Diavel by ddk632, on Flickr |

Thanks for the words fellas. The bike had soooo much grip and grunt. Feels so stable powering through corners hanging off. There is one dealer near me but I would take most of my business to an independent shop called Brooklyn Moto anyway.

Went to Homestead Miami Speedway for CCS races, rode down there with a buddy who just picked up an 899 Panigale --- brought my DSLR, of course.

Here are some more choice shots from my recent Motorcycles and DSLRs shoot at Homestead Miami International Speedway during CCS racing.
1 Dusk Sets In by ddk632, on Flickr I really liked this shot of the faces of the Diavel and 899 Panigale: 2 Born to Ride by ddk632, on Flickr Another 899 shot: 3 Baby Panigale by ddk632, on Flickr One of my favorite shots of the Diavel to date, the green mini palms and other plants provided a really nice background. You'd be hard pressed to believe this was shot in the middle of a racetrack! 4 Diavel in Paradise by ddk632, on Flickr Those lights, so sexy! 5 899 LED by ddk632, on Flickr A close up: 6 Diavel Carbon by ddk632, on Flickr This image was slightly overexposed, but if liked it so much I fixed it up and kept it. Really shows the stance of the 899: 7 Making a Stand by ddk632, on Flickr Since there was a race going on I thought it would be cool to have some racing in the background: 8 Racing DNA by ddk632, on Flickr If you enjoyed this series, make sure to check out the full set on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidkh...7638566384324/ This has been one of my favorite Motorcycles and DSLRs shoots to date, and there will surely be more - these two bikes just look SO good it's a crime not to take photos of them! |

Looks like an angry bird eating the front tire. But gorgeous still.
