One thing I didn't know: I hadn't realized how lucky I was in getting my car when I did--it turned out that the price of later models went up a whole lot...

i read the first 10 or so pages and didnt see this posted. you can use your the dvd slot (navi dvd) to play mp3 DVDs. hooray for fitting 4.7GB of music

of course you'd need idrive + navi for this one.

The car can be locked with a key inside using the other key remotely. My wife inadvertently did this and left; fortunately, I had my wallet key. It also changed the memory settings to those stored in the "locking" key. Car has CA.

However, when you play mp3 DVD's on the navi DVD slot, your navi will not work.

If you have cruise set and you go into a turn a little too fast without slowing down, the car will automatically reduce your speed to what if feels is "safer". If you still haven't applied your brakes to shut off cruise and you start coming out of the turn and begin to go straight again, it will increase your speed back to what it was.

The driver side of my e92 sits slightly higher than the right side. This is supposedly meant to compensate for driver's weight. However, this feature is actually built into the geometry of the car as this exact height discrepancy is maintained despite setting the left and right spring heights the same on my adjustable coilovers.

That's an interesting one. I wonder if it's really the cruise slowing you down or the stability control, however. Does it still do this if you shut DSC off?

So from now on, there will be an empty clip to the left, that's CHEAP!
I was about to go back to my dealership to ask for the flashlight until I saw this. Oh well. So no flashlight and no charging socket...

You cannot use cruise control with DSC off - the car won't allow it. So we may never know the answer to that question.

Thanks for this info. In my case the power switch back on when I unlock the car. I have my radar connected via glove box. I still have to check that if I don't unlock the car (like in my garage) will it still shutsoff the outlet.

This is really a good feature as I was worried about the Radar to be on 24/7.

Another circuit I'd love to trace is the one that feeds the glovebox lamp. That is energized even without key. I don't know if it is always energized, or timed.

But until I can get my hands on a current wiring schematic and diagram, I'm outta luck. (latest WDS I've found is 09/2007 and my e92 is an 05/2008 and the fuse box is very definitely different.

on the e90 you can pop up the rubber rectangle piece in the center console and stash some goods in there..

Are you taking about the open storage pit, where the control would go if it had iDrive?

How do you pull out the rubber piece?

+1

Another thing: I didn't think a car would be this good. I never test drove my car until I drove it home from the dealer. Hell I never sat in one before that.

mp3 dvd's 8.5GB DVD+R DL's burnt at 8X play quite fine. just dont put too many mp3's in any one dir or the system will run out of memory and start in (random dir/FM) mode and be seriously lagged. the nav system sucks too much azz to use.

Something I just found:

using iDrive, when you have a long list to scroll through, if you spin the controller fast the list will jump down (or up) proportional to how fast you spin the controller.
