@ JR reflashes @ RENNtech are free as well as labor just in case unless they have changed their mode of operation lately, but I highly doubt it, cause i went for a reflash and DIDNT get charged for ANYTHING a year ago!!! BTW I know what Im saying cause my 02 MCS had to get a reflash cause BMW had made some changes and back then all i had to pay was shipping. MAYBE you guys can step to the plate and NOT be nickel and diming your customers.
who cares what renntech's SOP is? They dont make a pipe and they dont offer this package. JBD installs and reversions are free also, should that be a part of this discussion?

I'm getting sick of this "my tuner is better than your tuner" kids in the sandbox whining. If some one likes their JBD, good for you. If you have a relationship with Renntech, fill your boots. If you have a local tuner that will do things for you, great. If you like Evolve, even better.

Please stop this bashing and negative innuendos of who's better, cheaper, etc. Every business decided to run how they please and set their prices and practices. I choose to get my pipe and tune from Ecotune for all the reasons that were discussed in the 40 pages of this thread. If you do not like what is offered then vote with your wallet, don't piss in our sandbox and go somewhere else.

Seriously, grow up....

Lets compare tuners who offer a pipe and software --- wait, there is only 1.

If someone just wants the pipe at this point, just buy the whole package and don't send your ECU for tuning... then you have a pipe... then your cost for the pipe is the group buy price. If that's too much, then no big deal.

Glad to have an offering here in the states finally.

We run what is called a Business that requires our time being compensated for. We do not run a Charity.

If you want a service then you have to pay for it. Is this difficult to understand?

Anyway back to what is important. We just need two more purchases!!

I believe you get the pipe after sending your DDE over first.

Stated differently, you get a box containing the pipe and your reprogrammed ECU.

I have bailed out of the group buy because the pipe does not fit the X5.

Hoper your missing the point I answered what RENNtech offers compared to NON CHARITY business JR has(whatever) and AT NO time have I said one is better than the other, @ Yozh no prices have been mentioned only charges for reflashes.

I started this thread and I'll be damned if some of you will try to bring me down, NOT going to happen.

@JR run your business the way you want I merely bring out FACTS, you're nickel and diming people with the excuse that you have to charge for every REFLASH $50 and if they show up at your place $100(rip off). BTW RENNtech has been in service over 20 yrs unlike you that got incorporated in 2008. So please enough with your charity BS

As you well see many have bailed out for whatever reasons, some of which were TOLD that the pipe would fit the X5d. Stan says one thing you guys say another thing and Campbell writes another, who is who here!! Will the real BOSS come out.

Thats the problem with some folks here is that when truth is brought out they start whinning about UNFAIR, duh!! everything in this thread has had its margin of errors and issues. Ecotune again and again has given information that does not jive and let me explain for those who cant comprehend it, stan has done a great favor for the 335d and NO TUNER here stateside will because EPA will close them down.

@ JR just in case so you can CYA have you mentioned that this part is for OFF ROAD use ONLY!! If not, some of you better sign a disclosure doing so cause Im sure JR doesnt want EPA closing his shop, I for one dont want that to happen to ANYONE!! EPA has caused enough havoc on our cars as it is. So amigos the moral of this I am here to analyzed critisize and say whatever I feel like as long as I dont denigrate or curse anyone out and Im merely saying the truth

This thread degenerated quickly...

If anyone wants a pipe only and wants to have their own flash done, talk to me. I'm working on a solution. And, its not going to be crazy expensive either...

I'm friends with several of you here on the M57 forum including Axel. I've listened to the fussing back and forth about what different companies do or don't do. Yes indeed, Axel started this thread some 40 pages ago. I would so much appreciate if we could all stop the bickering. I had some detailed questions and I got them answered. I was not trying to stir up anyone in getting those answers. I just wanted all of the scenarios to be understood before one of them comes up.

Mr. Axel, we know you aren't happy. It seems obvious to me that the fussing isn't going to change the outcome. I write this for us not to continue with the fuss. The thread was much more enjoyable when it was a tech discussion.

amigo Cuda Im not fussing is that I say what I say with facts and some other members have the same notion I have, I tend to be as neutral as possible but when a person or company are not straight forward thats when I come in. In this case they have come forward with a great product and they have not been clear with some questions incurred by others, some forum members have brought the questions and if they would admit there were some miscommunication I respect that cause it happens.

Some members have bailed out cause some promises or better said a person stated that the pipe would work with the X5d, Im not mad or upset at all about the pipe not been sold i respect Stan on his decision but JR is stating his company is not a charity in no way did i imply that but, i did mention that my tuner does not charge for reflashes. Im not comparing as to whose is better than who but pointing out something that CAN BE beneficial to them and not nickel dime you to death.

If the product hasnt sold as of yet then it will sell later(mind you everyone knew this was coming),but as far as I know they havent reach their goal as of a few minutes ago, hence, skepticism on behalf of the buyer on not getting the whole story straight from the horses mouth or they dont have the money for it.

Shiftek I hope you guys the best as I do for Ecotune, and hope you can come more straight forward from the products persective

Was able to get into the same dyno used previously this afternoon. Oh boy, this is good stuff. I'll start a new thread after I compile all the data (have Bav Tech data to look at too).

This is a stingy Superflow dyno made for full sized dually pickups. They laugh at how small and low the car is...

Also, we didn't use any fans or cooling on the intercooler/front of the car ... so this is worst case type of situation.

Highlights:

Ecotune w downpipe made 310.4 whp vs the previous Evolve remap that made 282.2 whp. So ~28 whp improvement over the Evolve.

Ecotune w downpipe plus my custom stuff made 370 whp vs the previous Evolve + custom that made ~328 whp. The 2nd Ecotune + Custom had full fueling but I think the lack of fan on the front and minimal amount of time between the two runs caused a little heat soak and it only made 363.3 whp (but I love the long, flat torque curve with this combination of stuff).

Attached are the dyno plots. On the first Ecotune+custom plot I was a little light on the throttle until higher rpm's because it was the first run with the combo and I wanted to see a graph first before giving full fueling at the lower rpm's....

Your car must drive awesome, the area under the curve looks fantastic.

525 lb-ft at the wheels you basically make peak stock tq numbers at all points of the tq curve, if you started at a lower RPM I would wager it would exceed stock tq numbers from well before 1700 RPM all the way through. Thats nuts.

This is very cool stuff. Must make a mental note not to race any 335d when I am passing through your neck of the woods early this summer.

Hopefully Post 874 will get those last 2 buyers to belly up to the bar. Great news TDI. 370 hp without fans on the IC. You you were likely shooting meth so the charge air temp was cooler than a stock IC without meth but fan running.

TDI, are you running a Wagner or OEM IC?

Thanks for posting the findings TDI. I do wonder what the numbers are without methanol injection? As I dont think we would quite see 370 without it. I would be happy if it made 330whp and ecstatic if it made more than that.

Isn't that the 1st run he has posted? Unless I misunderstood something...
