Question. I just ordered a v3 and my car is previously installed with a Dinan flash on it. Can the cobb delete or overwrite the previous Dinan flash?

Hi all, running Cobb protune for awhile now, but I think something is wrong with my turbos. Getting overboost from time to time. Also, looks like there may be boost oscillations happening. Could somebody with some logging experience tell me what's going on? This seems to happen even with the tune taken off.
This is a relatively normal run: http://datazap.me/u/sharkatron/log-1...0&data=7-12-20 And this is one when the overboost error occurred: http://datazap.me/u/sharkatron/log-1...2&data=7-12-20 TIA! |

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question...to start the datalog, you just push the round button in the middle of the COBB AP. To stop datalog, you push it again. It records everything that happens during that time.

Try tuning the car, if your car isn't IJE0S it wont work and will tell you which bin you have

Intake, downpipes, and chargepipe. You can do it without the chargepippe, but I literally blew mine up from boost pressure.
So yeah, I'd strongly recommend a chargepipe/BOV combo before running Stage 2 OTS maps.

When you download a map - like Stage 1 - it downloads both the Aggressive and Drive. You can select them once you add them to Accessport Manager.

Wedge, how does one check if he or she has old rom on the car or new rom? I'd like to update my 2010 to the latest if it doesn't have it but would like to avoid the stealership.

You can use the BMW tools or MHD to upgrade your ROM version if needed. You would have to read it to see what version you have.

Besides PTF proTUNING Freaks
BuraQ BuraQ aka Wedge who else provides custom tunes for us with COBB & FBO? Does anyone know the difference between the two that I listed? Can either team boost by gear w/ cobb? I understand jb4 offers this but wasn't sure about cobb. |

Based on what I understand from our dialogues, unless changed, we have two different tuning methods of approach.

Basically, I see no benefit of going full boost in 1st or 2nd as it will translate to wheel spin even with LSD. Sorry if that's a newb question. |

We will only speak as to ourselves here. According to Cobb Tuning we have likely protuned the highest number of N54 motors in the world on the Cobb platform. We have been around since Cobb tuning introduced the Cobb AP for the N54 and we are a registered business with an address and a shop.
We provide tuning support to race teams around the Globe including the USA, Germany, Australia and have tuned everything from street/strip/road course setups on stock turbos to big single/twin conversions to winning 12-hour race events such as the Bathurst race in Australia. Our approach is based on years of tuning experience on and off the dyno and we're a certified Cobb protuner shop and a dealer. In terms of load by gear, you cannot do boost/load by gear on the Cobb right now. Its being tested on MHD and to our knowledge it isn't confirmed yet to work 100% but we could be wrong. Let us know if any other questions at all. Feel free to check out our Facebook page for some of the project cars we've worked on so far. We try to throw a pic and some updates on there whenever we get a chance to do so: http://www.facebook.com/protuningfreaks Last edited by proTUNING Freaks; 09-28-2015 at 02:03 PM.. |
