How did you guys remove the piece that holds the pins into the plug? (Step 7, picture 6 from this DIY). I spent an hour trying to remove it with no luck.
Also, what kind of wire is used for the ground (#4 and #2, the thick brown wire.) Looks like I don't have that. Thanks.

Ok...
I have read the DIY Threads on it very carefully and I am still really confused on the whole process... Anybody who has done it please help me out... I am going to be basing my questions off of ADHD's Thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=halogen+xenon 1. Should you put the front bumper on before you start messing with the wires? Or does it not really matter... 2. In step 5 of his DIY he mentions "First we need to add a Ground to the chassis! this is connected to hole #2 on the plug. The best ground is the one noted in pic#4 (green wire running up the black wiring harness bolted to the silver NUT that holds the ground box!" -When it says first we need to add a Ground to the Chassis... Where do you get the ground? Do you have to buy one? Or is it that "(green wire running up the black wiring harness bolted to the silver NUT that holds the ground box)"... And then do you just pull if off of that? Or do you have to splice it as well? 3. "6. Splicing the high beam wire to add the bixenon shutter wire! First cut the high beam wire#6 in half! add a but splice at the end of the wire coming from the car and crimp it in place..Then take an ADDED wire and twist it together at the end so u can put it in the butt splice together and crimp! Now u should have two wires coming out of the one connection as shown in pic#5" - So are you supposed to slice open wire #6's plastic wrap and pull the two wires apart to create this seperation...? - Where do you get the "Butt Splice" to add to the end of the wire coming from the car? (Cramp it into what place?) - "Then take an ADDED wire" were do you get that from? #6? I am not very good with mechanics or wiring... So I just need a little extra help... And I don't feel like paying 500-750 Dollars to get it done... Any information will help... Thanks!

Hi,
some people may already know me. I am a friend of ADHD, who supplies the german OEM lights. I have one set AHLs in stock again. They are in very well condition, not scratches, marks, broken tabs. They will come without bulbs and ballast, so just to make a conversion from amber to white side markers. I will Sell these lights for 980$ fix. At BMW, the lights costs $1,205.28 each one! Shipping from Germany will take appr. 10 working days. Below you will find pics just from the lights which are up for sale. Feel free to contact me or AHDH, but i will be on vacation (in US!) from 10-26 September. |

I'm having some trouble with this mod.
I've done the wiring internally to the headlight and have spliced the black lead from the ballast to the brown lead (existing ground wire) using butt splices. Everything seems to function correctly but I not only get a warning when the car starts but also once a minute while the car is on. I dont mind the warning when the car starts but I do mind the warning that appears every minute or so... is there something I can do to repair this? |

Is it possible to do this halogen to xenon conversion using US spec adaptive headlights? Will the xenons still power on? Any errors?

Ok, now has anyone done this the factory way? Buy the wiring retrofit kit, sensors, new footwell module, light switch, etc and install it?

Ye know this topic has me totally confused.
I'm sure I am only asking a question that many BMW E90 owners ask themselves.... How do I get the ice white halo angel eye rings fitted into my standard headlamps 1. Cheaply and not silly money 2. Without causing faults 3. Where from. Every forum reads confusing facts on this topic when all is needed is a basic explaination as to the best way to do this and someone to talk to about it who can do this. |

If you have halogen lights that currently don't have OEM AE in them, I don't believe you can add AE. You will need to get new housings, either OEM or DEPO.
If you have OEM xenons or OEM halogens that have AE, then just change the bulbs. But if, you don't have AE already in your car, there is no cheap solution. |

how does this solve the halogen to xenon Wattage issue?
going 55W(halogen) to 35W(xenon) power draw does trigger error? i have 2007 328i halogen 55W headlight and i have a pair of U.S. spec Adaptive Xenons from a 2006 325i. Should i be scared to do this DIY because the headlight will be supplied with 55W instead of 35W? |
