Those of you with the Parking Assistant option, what, exactly does it do? From wha I can tell it just helps you back-in or back-out of a parking spot? Does it even parallel park for you? Any differences in what it does if you have an automatic vs. a manual transmission? It doesn't come with any more sensors or cameras from what I was told, either.

I was too scared to use it ever with my manual.

Yes it parallel parks. It just does the steering. You do the gas/clutch/gears. Think in autos it does everything. I nervously tried it and it was excellent. Perfect distance to the kerb.

Do you think it's worth optioning? I originally had it and then took it off because it didn't provide any extra cameras or sensors. I was hoping for the top-down camera or 360 camera views.

Suppose it depends how much you’re going to use it. My car was already optioned. It is very effective. I wish it had a top down/360 camera too. Occasionally drive a Lexus that has it and it’s brilliant when parking or manoeuvring.

Would do the same

I have a TR 6-spd with pretty much all the options (including the armrest heater that stands for a wireless charger) with 4126 miles on the odometer.

Having been a Porsche owner x 2, I have no regrets. I'm happy whenever I hoist myself into the carbon sport seat. Happy when I put it in gear, and happy when I mash the accelerator. For the $, the capability ROI is quite high for me, and I don't feel like BMW cheaped me out of a good interior (OK, fine, the door pockets are too plastic).

It does feel a bit more "muscle car" than my previous sports cars, but it handles so well that I'm rapidly disabused of this trope.

Very satisfied
