Went for a ride to Miramichi. Stopped briefly at the old Radar Station where I was born. Nothing left but the old MQs.

And had Fish & Chips for lunch at O'Donahue's.

Our offer was accepted on one of our top property choices in NC.

It's a good thing too because out of the 5 or 6 we had lined up to see most of them sold in like a day or two before we got here and the others had pretty big problems that were not immediately apparent from pics.

Fingers crossed nothing major comes up during due diligence.

Congratulations on being under contract! Our offer for a wooded lakeside lot in SC was accepted last week, and our closing lawyer has been retained as of yesterday. Fun times, indeed.....

Congratulations to you also!

Yeah I'm not sure what was worse... the frustration of trying to find something or the anxiety of what lies ahead now.

Just wait. Mortgage process, closing stress, renovations, moving....

It's all good though. Congrats.

Thanks! Luckily it's a second home so no moving... just a lot of spending on more crap to fill it up with and a lot of back and forth driving from FL.

Unfortunately we had to pay cash (which we did not want to do) but our offers were always getting declined in favor of cash deals. Luckily this one was in a price range where we could do cash. Apparently there were over 10 offers and they only showed it for like a day. Luckily for us the seller did not want to accept sight unseen cash offers which I hear they had a few. I should be able to refinance to get my cash out though.

For me, it's the frustration of getting the pre-closing stuff over with from 750 miles away as the crow flies. Everything in the south runs at a relaxed pace, which is frustrating to a northerner who is used to much faster progress. The killer right now is planning our travel to an in-person closing, when the date hasn't been finalized yet and airfare (if I choose to fly) gets crazy expensive if you book closer to your travel date.

Cash purchase of wooded lakeside land for me. Not much stress, and I did most of my due diligence before making the offer.....

Well, being you don't have to deal with the mortgage and moving nonsense the spending part is fun. You can do renovations at your leisure without the stress of trying to get them done before you move in. I was in hell for months after my recent move and couldn't do everything I wanted to. I really want to gut my master bath but the thought of doing it while living in the house....

Have fun!

Because it's Cinco de Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico's victory against the French during the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Experts say the holiday was created by California Latinos during the Civil War.

Many confuse Cinco de Mayo with Mexican Independence Day, which is Sept. 16.

Today is a good day b/c my renal and kidney scans came back perfect! My blood pressure meds aren't doing much and they thought for sure I had partial blockage.

Now on to the next attempt to see why my BP is so high.

So far today has been a good day as 24 hours has elapsed since I got my second Pfizer shot. Other than a slight soreness around the injection site on my left arm when I attempt to raise it above shoulder level, everything seems okay. I'm probably not completely out of the woods just yet but feeling good so far! This comes as a relief to me after having read a lot of people's experience after their second jab.
