averaging 27.9 mpg in apr 07 335i auto over mixed but mainly country and town roads. I have a long stretch of uninterrupted 30 mph limit road on commute to work that I get high 30, low 40 mpg's out of. I rarely drive hard and use CC quite often. Why have a 335i if i drive like a nun?? I just like being able to go quick if I have too, or can, which is hard to do as far too many cars on the road, but when I do, fuel efficiency is no longer a concern, having fun is much better than worrying about MPG's, and because I don't get chance to floor it that often, I don't have to worry about the MPG's when I do (not sure if that makes sense, but I know what I mean!)!

330i m sport manual 57 plate
29.7 mpg over 30K Mainly A roads with occasional motorway runs. My wife drives the car more than me and generally takes it easy. |

06 e90 330d msport manual with emaps remap.
I've got 41.5 on the OBC over the 1000 miles since my remap. 90% motorway CC set to 83 - 80 by gps-slightly OCD ;-) 40.1 by gascubby iPhone app over last 5000 since I got the car. Same sort of driving. Lowest single brim to brim economy is 38.2 immediately after the remap for 'testing'. |

53mpg best ever - single run from Derby to Cambridge 4 up ( left to early so was gonna get there an hour early so thought I would try & do a bit of hypermiling)
usually averages around 30mpg on the 3 mile round trip school run in the week but 40+ mpg is easy just been to Mansfield & back & got 43mpg mainly at 70 ( M1 busy ish) those M3 boys getting 16mpg would be like me filling up @ £2.50 a litre. |

Having just finished my first tank of juice I feel am now qualified to post on this thread
Despite an initial trip from the garage I purchased the car from at over 50mpg, on the tankful since then using the brim to brim technique I have averaged 41.57 mpg, the OBC gives a figure for the same distance of 40.9 mpg. This is in a 2007 (Pre ED) E91 320d on Tesco's finest. My main journey is an 8 mile commute each way every day with a little duall carriageway followed by b road and then stop start in town. Was hoping for a little better but we'll see how we go. I have just started using some Millars additive as I don't use expensive diesel so interesting to see if it makes any difference over the next few tanks.... |

I averaged over 26mpg out of an E39 540i (4.4l V8) touring over 4-years of motoring in it. And I had some fun with it as well, so in easy conditions and driven moderately, good mpg figures are possible. BTW, in my experience better mpg without using cruise, if you use the road properly and to mpg advantage. HighlandPete |
