Resetting the Service indicator.
A must for any DIY. Resetting the service indicator.
The detail from mikem's thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51049 Step 1 Insert key into slot Step 2 Press start/stop button without depressing clutch/brake and wait for the service reminder to disappear. Step 3 Immediately after service reminder goes out, press and hold the odometer reset. After 3 secs a warning triangle will appear, keep the odo. button pressed and after another 2-3 secs the Oil can will appear. I f you hold it too long (10 secs in total) you will overshoot the runway and some German writing will appear giving the software level/ can bus etc. of the car. Go back to the beginning and start again. Step 4 You are now in the service menu, use the toggle switch on indicator stalk to scroll up/down through the various service items. Step 5 When you have the item you want to reset showing, press the BC button on end of indicator stalk. Reset should now appear in the display. Press in and hold the BC button for 2-3 secs and a clock will start whirling around and hey presto, its done Step 6 You can now either scroll up/down to select another item (as in step 4) or you can press the start/stop button to exit. Very informative stuff. I am a new BMW owner and I found these very helpful. These "how to's" were actually what brought me to the forum and create an account .

Hi...Long time lurker here and this is my first post (you will have to have to make 1 post and wait 24 hours after the post is made for your account to be upgraded to full status). Thanks to all for all the DIY's. This place is a treasure trove.
I was trying to order parts/ compare prices online and I didn't realize just how difficult it is to get a part number for BMW parts. Is there some place to check and obtain part numbers? Thanks. |

Here's a tail light tinting DIY I put together. It goes through tinting and way to mimic blacklines through tinting. Total project costed me $1.39

2006 E90 3259 Auto Door Locks not Locking
This is my first post. I apologize if I'm in the wrong place. If so, please direct me.
I bought my daughter a 2006 325i E90 manufactured in May 2005. Until a few weeks ago when you reached a speed of about 10mph the doors would automatically lock. They have stopped locking. It cannot be set in the gauge cluster (pre September 2005 manufacture). Any suggestions? |

Hey guys I have tried searching but no luck, Does anyone have a DIY or scans from a Bentley manual on how to change the transmission mounts on a 335XI, From what I know the Mounts are different and not 100% sure if the crossmember is the same either.
Can someone give some insight or help me with this I am looking to do this next week. Thanks |

I haven't been able to find a ER oil cooler install guide. Anyone have any links?
EDIT: I put some thoughts down here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1177601 The instructions included were actually pretty good so I'll add to that post as well. Last edited by oneplustwo; 09-27-2015 at 11:21 PM.. |

seats are easy to remove, just 4 bolts on the rails. if you remove the back cover, there are plastic bags inside, that get filled with air. you can see which hoses are going to which bag, and disconnect them.
hope this helps. |
