geez, when dad bought his car (not from bmw might i ad, they were very rude to him, so he went elsewhere), he was given a few bottles of champagne, a picnic hamper thing, coffe mugs, keyrings, and a few golf days and now i hear something about another golf day...

I agree with them, I could care less about free clothing when buying a new car or the assorted other crap they hand out. I just want the car delivered on time, at price with no hassles.

BMW have been fine, Mercedes are heads above though, tickets to the Melbourne F1 with passes to events at the Gran Prix etc.

I'd never take any of that stuff as a given, nor ask for it though. I tend to agree if you spend that much money on a car you can afford your own jacket, pens, key ring etc. It wouldn't be any skin off my nose if I didn't score heaps of free gear.

My view is that if they give you free stuff, you paid too much

The status only one in there, any idea what does it mean? VIN number is correct and BMW confirmed my car ship via WW

thank you
Sorry BBQWER, I wasn't ignoring you, just don't get a chance to visit this site regularly anymore... it looks like your issue was sorted, but basically this status means the voyage is booked by the factory, but the car hasn't arrived on the ship yet.

You can tell a lot from the time between status changes and your final delivery. It is waits too long in pre-delivery when it gets off the ship you know it was damaged in transit... mine slipped through all the gates like it was teflon coated... so I was very happy because the wait drove me absolutely crazy, and visiting this site was the only thing that kept me sane - well relatively speaking

It took two weeks for the car to get from the boat in Oz to my garage. They do a pre-delivery-delivery where they fix transit damage and prepare it to be road freighted, then your dealer does the final delivery. Depending on if you are having window tint, etc your dealer may have it for a week or so.

i never understodd that pre delivery stuff... i worked at a dealer and all they did when they got it was dust it pretty much - my guess is they have it for a little while to make the customer think they are doing something...

i know for a fact that tinting only takes a little while probably 90 mins?

there is alot going on behind the scenes that the customer never finds out about, it's an eye opener being part of it lol

+1 tinting only takes 90mins. but we not allow to roll down the window for 24hours.

I rang dealer yesterday, they said about pre-delivery such ass final inspect for the car, wash + wax , checking if all computer system on the car working or not, wheel allignment, and Register the car ( they told me it tooks 48 hours for this job )

And two weeks time after the ship arrive, this is for Australian Custom.

Desperately to get the car within this month, if not, there is an increase with interest rate on november

if it is already in australia, unless something goes super wrong, i am pretty sure you'd have your car within the month

Got phone call this morning from dealer. I have chance to get the car this Friday 26th, i feel so happy. However, im not quiet happy with the finance!!!

Option 1:
I get finance $25k from bmw finance, with 50% residual. monthly payment is $661.25 , at the end of the day i paid $3370 for interest. ( interest 8.90 per annum )

Option 2:
I get finance $20k from bmw finance, with 50% residual. monthly payment is $570 , at the end of the day i paid $3680 for interest. ( interest 10.50 per annum )

I think option 2 is very very not fair, i dont know whats going on with that finance guy.
What do you guys think ? please advice me

Thank You

It's finance, they're in the business to make money.

I suppose just sit down with a calculator and work out which way will result in the lowest amount of payment(s). Which looks like option 1.

Dunno, speak with your banker or something then, or maybe have a rethink about getting the car? Surely there must be other options available with financing cars? Don't they have a variety of leasing options or hire purchase or something?

Don't know why the difference in interest rate unless option 1 was through BMW finance and option 2 was another vendor like ST George or equiv. At the end of the day it depends on what you are tryin to acheive and your curcumstances. Option 1 for a two year loan seems reasonable.

Thanks for the advice guyss, i think i might go with option 1. seems like no choice for me, and it is quite reasonable interest rate.

2 more days to go, i just cant wait anymore

Dont worry about the MIGNON vessel, may be just an error with system.
I believe your car using Talisman vessel.
