Is there a source for these 12mm sleeves?

Yes, on my 335i I did for for 1 year and then I installed BMW yellow performance springs. I got them used. There is one set for sale now. New are $400 used $250. It is lot better now but that would have been the case even if I was still on stock struts and springs. This is my 3rd vehicle with Koni yellow. I love them. Only bad thing is they rust. I learned that a decade ago. Before installing them on the 335i I applied two coats clear ceramic paint. Two winters after and Zero rust. They are very affordable in addition to offer adjustability with lifetime warranty. Good deal!

Another bump for an old thread...
I just bought these and are about to install, my question is did you guys use the large washer that came with the mounts? (see pic) It looks redundant since I will be re-using the stock shock tophats when installing... |

The stock washer was wobbly (the center hole had enlarged a little) so I used the Monroe washer. I originally contemplated to used them in conjunction but leter decided not to.

Thanks, I ended up using the stock washer and leaving the Monroe one out. I also considered using both but didn't see what purpose that would serve. I probably should have taken a better look at the condition of the stock piece though, it was definitely not as stout as the supplied one.

As for the Rear Strut Mount, how are you liking the Munroe's? Did you look at Dinan or the OEM Mount Package from Turner?

I really like the Koni Yellow. I like the Montoe's. The notice of the difference was immeadiate. I have not look at Dinan or Turner because the Monroe can not be beat for the money 😀

Any suggestions on the lower mounts? I mean, do you think they're required to change on a 115k mile car? I'm doing shocks and top mounts so I thought I'd ask.
Thanks!

I got new spring pads and strut mounts up front as well. Again, if disassembling, why not replace wear items along the way. Finally, I was a sucker for the rear Dinan upper mount. Allegedly it allows a bit more shock travel and it firmer. That may have been an incremental cost I could have avoided in comparison to the Monroe option, but I was curious!

I've put about 30 miles on these and I have to say for $25 bucks this is a no brainer mod. I am surprised at how much it firmed things up in the back, the stock mounts were soooo soft, akin to one of those cheap stressballs. They seem to have almost eliminated that waggle the rear end had when going over uneven bumps slowly. 45 minutes of my time including jacking the car up, well worth it and highly recommended.

Just did mine yesterday and the lower rear shock mounts were rusted and the rubber was coming apart. Steel plate is overmolded with rubber. At that price I would order them and replace weather needed or not.

113K and 9 years of Chicago winters. I also replaced everything rise since i was doing the job on Saturday and did not want any surprises with deteriorated parts. The rear upper sick mounts needed replacement also. Right front upper strut mount bearing was also really loose, most of the rubber spring seats were reusable, the upper front spring perches were fine.

The additional parts were about $200 on top of the cost of shocks and springs. Small price to pay if you want to do the job only once. If you don't replace something today and it fails in the next month or six you have to disassemble everything to replace that part. Shop fees and time again, so the question that you have to ask yourself is if the savings were really worth it.
