Anyone notice the E92 manual is more than twice as large as the E90 manual?

Probably because of the pdf compression settings used by the person who made the original file.

I realize the 2008's are basically the same as the 2007's, but why does it take so long for BMW to put the manual up for electronic download? They must have the file manually that they use to produce the paper manual. They could use that and add any fancy hyperlinks later.

Bump and Ditto
I've just ordered a 2008 335i E92 and can't find a 2008 version of the owner's manual, and can't tell if I can just go ahead and use the e92coupemanual.pdf I downloaded here. that has a copyright of 2006 (Order No. 01 41 0 012 344
US English V/06 on page 4)

Anyone have the E93 cabriolet manual? 2008 335i would be great.

I have the convertible on order and expect delivery in mid-July. Would love to read up on the car before that. Thanks.

You might want to post this in the appropriate forum. You're more likely to get a response.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7

(and ask for someone to give you a location or link, rather than download to you, as this is a message board. There's no provision for one person to "download" to another".)

Good luck!

Please Repost E92 Owners Manual with I Drive

Any chance you can repost the 2007 E92 Owners Manual with I Drive? Every time I try to download it, I get an adobe acrobat message that the file is damaged and could not be repaired.

Just bought my 2007 E93 last weekend in Atlanta, GA and drove it back to Houston, TX. It is so sweet! Unfortunately, it didn't come with an Owners Manual.

Thanks

Thanks! The dealer provided me a Chinese Owner's Manual, which would be very time consuming for me to go through. I am a 1st time BMW owner so even the most basic visual indicators i may not fully understand the function. It also doesn't help that the dealer told me the wrong info.

When i picked up my E90 last weekend the staff who goes through the car functions with new owners told me that the re-circulating air button means to pull air from the outside. I asked 3 times to make sure what I heard was correct since the air quality here isnt the best when you are trailing a bus or big rig. I asked if i want to circulate the air inside the car what is the button or indicator. His reply was that when all lights are off that is when the air is being recirculated. The re-circulating indicator light he mentioned means to pull air from the outside.

Wow sounds like the dealer was very misinformed on how it operates.

Not sure if the chinese model is any different on the a/c controls compared to the US models but here's how it works;

There's 3 options on how you want the a/c or vents to work:

a ( ) symbol lighted up with a green LED above it indicates air is being recirculated in the cabin

a (A) symbol lighted up with a green LED above it indicates the air will be recirculated in the cabin if the a/c intake sensor detects dirty or smelly air incoming. You may smell a hint or a bit of the smelly air for about a second to two while the system closes the intake to the cabin and redirects the air to recirculate.

with both of these selected off, it will pull air from the outside through a cabin microfilter which is located behind the glovebox panel...this is to filter the air and to keep the air quailty clean inside the car.

You may have to change this more often if you drive in dirty cities or so, the indicator in the maintenance menu will tell you when to replace it.

On the US models, there's a recirculate mode button on the steering wheel for on the fly switching...do you have that there?

BTW what's up with the air quailty in China airports? We're getting 767's and 777's back with black streaks all over the wings from front to back and they're not hydraulic fluids residue, it's more of a chaulky residue and been told it's from the smog over there...
a few of them was bad enough we had to send them to the wash shop for a quick clean.

Thanks for the info. I got it figured out. I should have listened to my gut instinct than to listen to any sales staff whether in China or the US. Anyways lesson learned, good thing i've only been driving around for a week while being misinformed.

The pollution here is pretty bad, but it's a lot better than it was a few years ago. The Chinese government has taken initiative to force high polluters(industries) out of the big cities. They in turn pollute in less regulated suburbs or other countries (vietnam, laos, eastern europe, etc)

Sorry to hear about the dirty planes, i don't know what can be causing that. High humidity + pollution? Maybe planes from highly polluted areas in Florida have the same problems? Just my guess

Silly me, I figured it out.
I was using SumatraPDF and it kept asking me for a password. When I opened the file on my Mac it opened just fine in Safari. After saving the PDF file through there it now opens fine in SumatraPDF. My guess is there is some sort of protection of the file that prevented it opening correctly first time around. Anyhow, all is well in the world. Thanks for the manuals.

I just visited the owner of Car Care Specialties and he told me its completely fine to hose down the engine. Here is an article that he wrote on proper engine cleaning that may be very helpful: http://store.carcareonline.com/enginecleaning.aspx

He is a concourse judge/ contestant. He won 22/24 concourse competitions that he has entered. Give him a ring if you have any questions, I can't believe how helpful his convo with me was. I'll post pics of the process later. Time to clean!
