If you're able to drop by AJ's in San Jose, they're highly recommended by many.
+1 Gone to AJs for 2 years and won't use anyone else. Just know what you want before going there and ask what kind of deal they can give you on xx package...never had them offer less than 10% discount when I ask.

Morning everyone! So I went to the Milpitas meet last Friday and only 4 other people showed :/

Anyone know of any other meets in the East Bay or the South Bay? Maybe even on the peninsula side as well.

So my car been having some weird symptoms these past few days. I am not sure why. The car kind of stutters in lower rpm in first 2 gears... light tap on throttle, it doesn't really go. Making take-offs sluggish. I reset the maps on the BMS and it seems to work fine after... it happens after a cold-start... any ideas?

Happened to me, however, it was more extreme.
Long story short, it was due to a bad coil.

I have a Cobb AP, so I was able to check for the CEL error code.
Do you have one?

No CEL. Mine is N/A n52, though. I guess I can change the coil packs... but I just want to find out what problem is before I start spending money on things. It doesn't seem like that'd be as I reset the map and problem is gone?

For that same meet, it's done in the Peninsula in San Bruno.

I, too, have yet to attend one.

Yea, it sounded similar to the issue I had a few months ago. I messed around and put the aggressive setting. Then, my car started to sputter and as I gave it gas, it wasn't responding.
I'd say ask around the technical forums some more before you change the coils...I mean unless you can afford it.. Lol

So I thought something was wrong this morning when I started the car, did the normal 1200 rpm then few seconds later car started the come down in RPM, slight vibration and stalled. At that point, I knew something is going on so I used the reader to see if I can pull a code (even though there's no CEL or service light popped on). I got the code p1017... it's the eccentric shaft sensor... $465 of parts including the sensor, gaskets, and new bolts with close to 4-5 hours of labor... bleh.

There was probably oil residue in the eccentric shaft (hehehe) sensor. It happens a lot because of the valve cover gasket or oil cover gasket. I forget which one.

You change the sensor, right? Not just take it out and clean...

Yeah, you have to replace and clean the area. I'm not sure if you can get by with just cleaning it...?

It looks fairly simple, just time consuming. I found a how-to.

So I was browsing Speed Element's website when I saw weird references/links to different sites completely unrelated (I think) to Speed Element. Is this normal? Did their site get hacked? See pics noted in red:
