My understanding is these injectors are now up to revision 12. Best to get the latest if you can afford it...

There is not such a think as revision 12 on N53....latest is 11. Revison 12 is only for N54

Correct. Index 11 is the latest for the N53 & N43

Thank you for input, guys! Just came back from the mechanic. Swapped the injectors, but the error stayed on cyl. 3. What could possible be if not the injectors? I still assume they aren't full working, but why is the error stuck on cyl.3?

Did you code the injector, clear the fault, if you did then either coil or spark.

Also changed the spark and plug. Both new. This drives me nuts...

Has the injector been coded?

No, but the car was barely driveable. I thought coding shouldn't have such an effect.

Wont hurt trying, the fuel injection values might be out of swing.

It turns out the Bosch plugs were faulty, even though they were brand new. They aren't friendly with this engine. Oh well, so far the car drives wonderful. Hopefully it stays this way for a long time.

Definitely best to stick with OEM for the plugs for this engine especially (they can do double the amount of work when the engine is running in stratified mode) - Costwold BMW do them for cira £8 ea.

Won't touch bosch plugs again.

Now I am running two of my original index 02 injectors with 50k miles on the clock and 2 index 07 bought used from a friend. The car drives fine, but the diagnosis showed a NOX error + catalytic converter errors. Also the exhaust seems pretty wet and there is a slight smell of gas on cold starts. Should I install back my two original injectors?

After the discussion on spark plugs I decided to change the rest of mine to ngk for piece of mind. While changing I found that 2 on the same bank as the last injector I replaced were black and drenched in fuel so managed to pick up 2 brand new index 11 injectors from eBay for 200 and fitted for another 100. Car runs the best Iv ever known it to. Next thing is to see if it's improved my results on the dyno.

Do you know which coils you have now? Bosch or Delphi?

Thank you!
Hi, yes they fitted Bosch

Strange that the dealer didn't fit the latest iteration of coil (Delphi) which have been redesigned to incorporate an external heat shield, presumably to extend coil life. Perhaps they had old stock on the shelves...

N43B20A, all 4 injectors changed in BMW dealership with revision 11 at 134.000 km, as one got stuck while overtaking. Changed again all 4 at 260.000 km for irregular idling when cold and high fuel consumption. Got the "revision 11" again.
So, they lasted exactly as long as the original ones.
