The h&r's ride about 20% stiffer then the Eibach's, but the h&r's drop the car a 1/4 inch more.

-I got em afterwords.
-The stock 17's with RFT's were fine when i installed the springs.
-I "upgraded" to 19's with crappy generals and the ride quality did go down.

hey JP post some pics of your new stance with the 19" M6 rims. Your car in your sig looks sick! Perfect stance with the new 19" man!

I just installed mine, the car looks great, fronts maybe a little lower. I had my 19" wheels with Goodyear F1 Asys on before the springs and it made quite a difference in handling. The ride quality to me is right on the edge of being to harsh, the car feels a lot better and seems to be funner to drive. I might lean towards putting on H&Rs if struts come out for us next summer, but this is just for the drop in the front.
Over all I'm quite happy with the out come. I have driven on all my usual routes and the ride harshness is fine.
I will post some pics when I can.
Thanks JP 335xi, Snowball and Sexye92 for this thread and answering questions of mine.

This may be a newbie question, but would different shocks matched with Eibach springs be a softer ride then just the springs with the stock shocks?

Well, 400lbs didn't seem like much to me at first, but looking at a load capacity of 1058lbs it is significant, that and the fact it is close to 440lbs with the specs from the book.

I realize the xi is about 220 pounds heavier than the i, but should I be overly concerned about this? Is this possibly why the Eibachs ride softer than the H&R's (because they're more compressed at all times)?

I typically never ride with a lot of people or cargo in my car, but I don't want to have to be worried about this is in the future. Let me know if this is a legit concern or if I'm just being worrisome.

I need to correct myself! I decided to do it the easy way and subtract the curb weight of a 328xi from the GVWR of an 328i and I got 837lbs, or 221lbs less capacity. Sorry about the initial scare!!! That's about 20%, but not as significant as my original 40%.

Someone said the H&R springs for the xi and i were the exact same ones. The box had a different number but on the springs themselves they matched. I will keep searching for that thread.

Oops, sorry about that! I was panicking because I was off 200lbs initially in this and another thread. I should have checked that you have a 335. Luckily there's kind of a pattern in the weight specifications...

Interesting find on the same springs for 328xi and 335xi. 335 guys better confirm with H&R because with lower springs there is more risk of bottoming out.

It's probably safe to say they are alright with a 328xi, but questionable with a 335xi. Hopefully you're right in that they just transfered over 335xi to 328xi, in that case you'd just have extra capacity/harshness for the 328s.

GVWR: 335xi = 4872 vs 335i = 4652
Curb weight: 335xi = 3814 vs 335i = 3593

In either case it's a difference of 220 pounds. We may need an actual tech with specs on these springs to chime in, but my question is whether the Eibach 335i springs are only equipped to handle a 4652 pound GVWR or whether they are rated higher than this. I looked online but couldn't find anything.

H&R is using the same set of springs on both the 328xi and the 335xi, and again you're looking at a weight difference of about 200 pounds. So are those springs weight-rated to handle the 335xi or are they weight-rated somewhere in-between the two cars (or even lower)? My guess is they just got lazy and decided to use the 335xi springs for the 328xi as well, and this is supported by the fact that like Eibach they use different springs for both the 328i and 335i. I'm guessing this makes the H&R springs for a 328xi needlessly harsh, but fortunately for those guys any set of 335i springs should work just fine since their cars weigh less.

I'm starting to believe that the only saving grace of these Eibachs on an xi is that they don't lower the rear as much and more of the car's weight (about 54%) is distributed to the front of the car to begin with. Does anyone else want to chime in? Like I said I don't usually pack my car to the brim, but I can foresee a Vegas road trip in the near future and I don't want to be scraping the whole way out there with 3 or 4 people and luggage.

Here's the wife's 330xi. Eibach on the front and zsp on the rear. The car sits within a 1/4" all around. The Eibach rear springs are about 5/8" short than the zsp and I didn't want the rear any lower, so I didn't install them. The car's not slammed. Just has a look like the way it should have come from the factory.

I don't think so. Go to eibach.de for what he/she got. Select PERFORMANCE SUSPENSION. Then look in the upper right corner for the US flag for English. You need to look in the European and Asian application of the PRODUCT LINE. They are listed for 325xi and 330xi.

I found some website that sells these springs, but it seems a little shady and thought I'd ask around here first. Are these the same springs that one of the guys on here ordered from France?

rule of thumb is if you drive a XI and don't want the "rake look," get Eibach/H&R springs that are "I" specific.
