Come on, this is not the first time Europe or mostly the German market plays BETA tester for new BMW innovations. Once the first or second year of customers here in Germany don't have any problems with DCT anymore you guys will get it as well.

BMW just can't afford the bad PR in the US, so they rather wait until all problems are ironed out before bringing it to the US. Better wait until you have a good product than bringing it on the market early.
The reason the US did not get the DCT was for marketing reasons ( I stated this elsewhere a while ago) The DCT in a non-///M for the US will be the new Z4 to boost the view of the cars performance. I expect to see the trickle down to other models soon after that. In the US BMW tends to launch new technology in new models so when they run the marketing it is tow fold, for the new car and new tech.... the Z4 allows this to occur.

Isn't the Steptronic the same as Volkswagen's DSG?
I thought the Steptronic was a dual clutch auto (really a Manual) like DSG. . .

Thats interesting. Didn't know that. I assumed it was the same because it felt the same as my wife's VW with DSG.
The DSG has an extremely high failure rate.

Not going to make some people happy, as it is still leaves some things open.
The DCT being one of them. No Direct injection and No Connected Drive. iDrive.... Full read and .pdf

Well since this was posted in July of last year, only a few weeks left to see if the 2010 model has the DCT....

My bet is that they will skip this again, if they will i will truly puke a bucket.
