There are a series of tiny LEDs toward the upper outer edge of the headlights similar to the ones on the tail lights of the E60 5-series.

Another interesting tidbit from "The new BMW 3 Series" pdf, "The widened track of the new BMW 3 Series especially contributes to its powerful appearance. Depending on the model, the track of the rear axle has been widened by up to 24 millimetres by means of a new wheel carrier and other modified details."

The interior with the new i-drive looks better. But I think I like the good old blacklines better than the new taillights.
And what's up with the eyelid thing on the headslamps, I know the US will not get the orange on the headslamps anymore, but I dont think the new once looks better than the euros. And of course those huge mirrors sucks Basicly a old M-sport looks better

yeah, the upper shade of new headlight doesnt flow well with the headlight overall shape compared to the prefacelift version...but i do like the idea of the 5er style of LED on the eyebrow though...

So still no info on what will happen to the Coupe in 2009? My ED 2008 will be built in 10 days so if I am going to pull the trigger on a 2009 its gotta be soon.
My guess is iDrive 2 will makes its way but no changes even minor to design? So no lighting or bumper changes but different wheel options or colors... The coupe intro lagged the sedan by one year (2007 vs. 2006) so I am assuming other coupe changes would happen in 2010.

Yes, because the HUD is infront of the steering wheel.

This is going to be awsome. My lease ends on October 2009.
A month after this comes out! I still remember being one of the first to have it here in Arizona. People were all staring at it, "what is that", "A NEW 3 SERIES?", it was so satisfying. I cant wait for this one. Maybe I'll be the first in Phoenix, doubt it. But cant wait. You see, now there are a ton of those e90 roaming around my neighborhood. Once I get that facelifted bad boy, wooh. All those questions. Im so excited, but yet I cant be since it is over a year away |

First of all, I have to say the pics are top class.
I really like the re-design, although the changes are pretty subtle. I like the new front. Especially the lower grill. New lights look like LED's. Looks great. Not felling the "split hood" Not feeling the spoke wheels though. I prefer those spoke wheels of older models.

I'm not sure. If I understand this correctly, an increased width of 24mm means 12mm (1.2cm) on each side. That's pretty substantial. It would be like running your stock rear wheels with a 12mm spacer on each side.

I bet there will be a 1%+ price increase on the 2009 e92s and also just like the 2009 e90 335 models, the Coupe models will separate out the Logic7 stereo from the base model thereby resulting in another $600 to $1,200 price increase. Another way to fight the Euro battle without hiking the base price.
