Have you installed new daten correctly?
Make sure the daten is up to date and correctly installed.

car does not start after coding

Hi,

I just made problem on the car.

Using video here and NSC_DIY.pdf I did exactly what here is explained, was trying to activate door lock on certain speed (I am not sure about speed just changing nich_activ to activ).

Once this is done exactly as explained and without errors car just doesn't start. In couple try battery get low (also I was slowly coding before that by reading all 3x etc ...). I've changed back 5 options changed from nich_activ to activ but still nothing happen.

As newer has battery problem now as first need to go to buy battery charger at morning and then to find out what is the problem, I just hope someone here can have some idea what I should do.

The car is E90, 320d, VIN ending in KT70090
I was programming CAS only, like 7 KB file.
I do have backup of everything from modules, (220 KB file) just didn't tryed to put this back before recharge batter and ask here if someone have an idea what would be the problem ?

Just to add all details :
I've started progman before that with hope progman can have more descriptive values, but haven't done any update from progman. That did saved some values by reading "before retroffiting" but I haven't done any update after that. Sadly, didn't run car after progman is closed to be 100% sure this is not reason maybe.

Thank you in advance,
Dejan

Almost guaranteed that your daten is older than required to access that module.

Thanks Grant. I downloaded v45 and will give it a go.

Will report back if its all good so people know the resolution to the error if they ever come across it.

Finally worked it out with issues that popped up along the way.. I got a CHASSIS is Faulty error message after attempting to update to Daten v45 - which i assume had some corrupt files. I got the link from a forum member for the v45 files on another thread so beware when downloading.

The fix that i took was to uninstall everything and start from the scratch! I used the last backup files that i was successful with during the reinstall and then tested on the car - SUCCESS!!

That still didn't fix my issue in access the CIC module however, so i located DATEN v47 files which are the latest available and copied over only the:
  • Daten E89
    SGDAT
    ECU files

The link is below which i sourced from another forum member, so credit to whoever uploaded them as they have been tested by me and are successful.

http://www.torrentcrazy.com/torrent/...ing-all-in-one

Happy Coding! And I thought i'd just put my work through process to help anyone else out there who may get stuck or are looking for the latest DATEN V47 files...

It's sad to see that so many forum members standard reply is 'search' when these files are soo hard to find from a credible source.

First time coder here and I'm having a few problems.. I'm getting a similar error message to ink. I am able to read the individual module ecu's to get the fsw_psw.trc file, but when I try to do the "coapiReadSgGetFswPsw" function I get the following errors:

It seems like others have been able to fix this by updating the daten files, but I have tried a few different daten versions without success. I started with the version included in the coding success thread, then I upgraded to v47.1 then v48.1 then tried v41 to see if an older version would work, but I always have the same problem . Do the newer daten versions have backward compatibility, or do you need the exact version to match whats on the car? I have been using NCS Expert version 3.1 and Ediabas version 7.2, could these newer versions be incompatible with my car (08 e90)?

I kept messing around with NCS Expert and I think I found what I was doing wrong.

When starting NCS I always made sure to delete the fsw_psw.man file from the working directory for fear of coding the wrong file to the car somehow. However, I found that when loading a profile with .man manipulation enabled without a .man file in the working directory I'd get an error and wasn't able to continue. So to get around this I was using the Expertmode profile to read the desired ecu and get the fsw_psw.trc file. Then I'd make my changes to that file, save the .man in the working directory, and switch to the "fsw psw man" profile to continue.

I guess switching profiles during a session causes another .trc file to be pulled from the car and this was the source of my problem. I guess the "coapiReadSgGetFswPsw" command compares the .man and the .trc files in the working directory, but because I was switching profiles in between the read and attempt to write, my files weren't the same and thus an error was generated.

If I'd followed xxxjecxxx's guide more closely I wouldn't have had this issue.. I guess because I don't completely understand this software I was trying to be cautious but it ended up causing some problems.

Hello,

I also have a strange problem.
I was coding different cars like E87 LCI, E39 LCI, E90 LCI, all this without any problems.

When I was trying to get in the LMA module from a E60 PFL I got stuck.
The solution for that was updating my daten files. I now have the V47.1 daten files.
I followed the whole procedure and all looked ok.
When I try to get in the LMA module from that E60 PFL it all works fine.

Now the strange part:
With the new daten files I can't get in the NFRM module from the E87 anymore...

This is the error I got with the error log:

Quote:
ERROR! Modul: COAPI.CPP, Proc: coapiValidateSwStr, LineNr: 05, ErrorNr: 1141
COAPI-1141: FSW faulty
BATT_LEIT_DIAG

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI.CPP, Proc: coapiChangeFswPsw, LineNr: 03, ErrorNr: 1141
BATT_LEIT_DIAG

ERROR! Modul: LFCDHDIA.CPP (A_PL2FRX.IPS/IPO), Proc: CDHapiResultText, LineNr: 01, ErrorNr: 2000
COAPI-2000: EDIABAS or SGBD error

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 2000

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 2000
CODIERDATEN_LESEN
Did there go something wrong with the installation of the daten files or is there something else wrong?

Thanks in advance

Get the 48.1 daten for all the cars you will be coding. That will fix it right away

Need some QUICK help......

Tried to code a new battery following this guide:
http://www.**************/showthread...d-registration

I was changing the battery type from 80AH to 90AH-AGM.

I made it to step:

Proceedure B.a.18 and got the following error (see attached).

Possible things that could of gone wrong:

-I coded the CAS module 1st not thinking and changed: KLASSE_BATTERIE to 90ah_agm. The wrote the updated trace file to my car and it didn't seem to mind?

Problem is here that I don't know if I should drive without it being fixed.

Hey need help fixing this error, might be outdated daten files or something, idk.
My programs are installed by installing tools v2.11 and then copying any missing files from the files uploaded in bmw programming success thread. Coding looked to be working and then this error popped up:
Code:
ERROR! Modul: A_PL2N46.IPS, Proc: AeIndex, LineNr: 275, ErrorNr: 2060
COAPI-2060: coding faulty (general)
MSV70, C_AEI_AUFTRAG: ERROR_ECU_CONDITIONS_NOT_CORRECT_OR_REQUEST_SEQUENCE_ERROR

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 2060
SG_CODIEREN
error pop-up image attached also.

EDIT: Also, could running the car (engine on) while coding this module effect this error? Looked up msv70 and it appears to be engine coding. I can't really code on battery only bc my battery is bad and only stays on for about 2 minutes on accessory...

I have an error that I'm pretty sure is simple. I tried to search the forums but can't find anything.

When I select a profile in NCSExpert, I get an error window that pops up stating

"Profilversion 2.0 ungultig!" = Profile version 2.0 invalid?

Does this mean my profiles in the folder are bad?

Are you trying the NCS 64 bit version?

Yes NCSExpert v4.0.1. Tried it on both Win7 (64-bit) and XP (32-bit) w/ same error.

For now I just replaced the executable with an older NCSExpert v3.1.0 and it works lol.
